Two Headed Duck - Wrestling With The Self! by

Two Headed Duck – Wrestling With The Self!

It’s not a technically strong photograph (a bit of motion blur due to their clashing/thrashing heads) but I heard and also noticed these two Ducks fighting and fired off one shot before they broke apart and ran around still arguing.

The photograph was caught with a Canon 450D and a 55 – 250 mm lens set at 250 mm in Aperture Priority Mode.

Will it sell? Ever? Probably not, but this time I really liked the Novelty Circumstance behind the shot, so why not upload it for Fun? :-))

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

    LoL! Well captured!

  • Yes, it was a great thing to witness – they make a lot of noise while they’re fighting, too. Thanks for the fave Berns! :-))

  • Maybe you could start taking candids of (human) couples arguing? Or maybe not, they might get aggro with you for even attempting to document their squabble. :))

Perfect timing! Nice work, James. :)

  • Thanks Lori! I didn’t anticipate a two-headed illusion like this, I just wanted to catch that action. :))x
It was a great shoot overall – my best there in many ways!

OMG!! I have never seen a two headed duck! Wow, does this happen alot downunderneath? Is it the water? Is there some really bad chemical that is causing this? Oh my goodness!!!:(

  • LOL, stop joking! You can see four feet but it sure looks like a two-headed bird. Or maybe it is the water and a Duck Virus will lead to all future Aussies being born with two heads. Which is O.K really, because two heads are better than one! :))

  • It was all over extremely quickly and I just captured one shot. It Reminds me of Medusa in a Ducky kinda way. Thanks for your support! :-)☺♥

    fabulous photo capture James

  • Thanks Solomon! It’s good to be able to change the camera settings so quickly now, allowing for the right lighting and shutter speed to be chosen as the shooting situation changes second by second.

What a ‘self-revealing’ and ‘self-explanatory’ capture!!! And the title is absolutely no ‘lame-duck’ title either. It MAGNIFICENTLY conveys what philosophers and mystics have been “wrestling” with for ages.

  • Thanks for your quirky feedback, it made me laugh! Maybe it’s my own self-portrait and I’m just not admitting it? :-)

Absolute amazing capture, James! Very unusual and ‘tricky’, glad you pointed it out it’s an original shot! Congratulations to you!!!*

  • I’ve never photographed such an incident before and it was over in a matter of seconds. I can’t thank the ducks enough for performing for me! :))
