Back side Corner Ollie Air – Empire Park Skate Park, Newcastle, Australia

Last week I was shooting a simple Skate Video at this skate park and this guy was skating very well that day. But today he was concentrating much more and seemed far more determined to rip it up – he achieved his aim!

A backside ollie is a skate trick where you slap the tail of the board into the ground/riding surface and then slide your front foot up the board allowing you to get airborne. There are three ways to ride/orientate yourself on a skateboard – straight-on, backside and frontside. Backside is with your back to the turn, frontside is the opposite, and straight (ahead) is just that.
