Seaside Snippets - Beachcomber Series by

“Seaside Snippets – Beachcomber Series”

A collage of various scenes at a local stretch of beach (Merewether Beach and Bar Beach in Newcastle, Australia) captured during three different photo shoots a few weeks apart. The wave in the top left is only a miniature wave about two or three inches tall and it was shot at full zoom to capture it like a macro photo.

The Tropical Zone – Wednesday 12/09/2012

I increased the length and width of the canvass size (the original photo was 12 MP) by 150% and then scaled down the four photos to about 80% of their original size. The final image is 27 MP, saved at 240 dpi.

Al shots were taken using a Canon 450D and a Standard Canon 55 – 250 mm lens.

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

lovely work, I really love your rocks, as they fade out into a blur…cool! :)

  • They looked unusual and were a nice find. There’s a little bit of water amongst more bokeh rocks in that shot but I hid that top bit to make the collage symmetrical. Thanks for your nice comment! :)

Fantastic Work, looks like a great day at the beach

  • Thanks Kathy! They were shot on three separate occasions. That’s what a nice day in Winter looks like here because we don’t get any snow.

Very harmonious blend – works super well reflector!

  • Thanks for your encouragement Shallay! :) There’s so much to shoot at those beaches but at one stage I felt like there was nothing else to find or shoot.

Have you enjoyed the Talent in this years “X Factor” so far? It’s been incredible how many great singers there are this year compared to previous years.

Well I like your snippets. Well done

  • Thank you my friend! They’re not really snippets because very little if anything was lopped off each photo (but don’t tell anyone). :)

Beautiful collage James… the lighting is excellent and the image’s crisp and vibrant !!! ☺♥

  • Thanks Evita! :-))x I was originally going to run a couple as individual shots but I’ve got tons more shots to choose from later, being so close to the coast and spending lots of time there.
