Missing My Master, My Best Friend! by

I found this awesome dog lying down on the Promenade at Merewether Beach waiting for it’s Master to return from a walk on the beach. It’s leash was tied around a bench seat and it was lying quietly in the shade. It wasn’t until I was reviewing my shots on the PC that I noticed it’s medal on it’s red, white and blue ribbon says “Winner” – priceless!

An original digital photograph taken with a Canon 450D and a 55 – 250 mm lens and then edited in Photoshop Elements 7 where my own custom photographed textures were added to influence the mood of the image.

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

You made the photo look vintage. I be the owner would have loved to have it. I have three dogs, rescues. I love them all.

  • I was talking to the owner briefly (but I didn’t show her the photos I took) and she said she thought her dog wasn’t very photogenic when she’d tried photographing it. But it was a magic dog! So quiet, but it’s eyes spoke. :)) I love dogs a lot too – they have a great variety of personalities.

A magic dog? I have never seen a magic dog! Oh wow! A magic dog! Must……find…….dog! Let me go check and see if mine can preform magic too!!

  • Yes, it had mastered the Power of Hypnosis and it could get you do do anything it wanted! The kind of dog that does the wrong thing, then looks at you with those eyes and you just can’t get angry at it.

Best of luck with the search for a similar pooch! :)

Congratulations Featured 11/11/12!!! Great Capture and use of textures!!!

  • Thank you! It was a great photo shoot all round. I searched for different things at a place that I might have photographed 40 times by now (it feels over-done!), found them and went home happy! :))
