A very placid, but fun-loving dog I encountered at Horseshoe Beach in Newcastle, Australia.

I took the shot with a Canon 450D and a Standard Canon 250 mm lens set at 135 mm.

The original digital photograph:

I applied my own custom textures to the original using Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.

The edited image, available for sale:

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

brilliant work – bet the owners would so love to see this!!

  • I was talking to the owner on the day – he was fishing there and settled his dog (only lasted a second – it’s too “hypo”!) so I could get a few quick shots. I should put a small collection in my car next time I go there in case I recognize anyone and want to show them. :-)

Beautiful James him proud, I agree with Maggie, the owners would love a copy of this!!!

  • Thanks for your nice comment! It was a quick shoot in atrocious lighting but I wrestled nice shots out of the camera with a slightly higher ISO or the flash. [Only to add a bunch of textures and make this one dark again! :)) ]

Perfect shot! Very nice lighting :)

  • Thanks for your feedback! :)) Adding two textures added much more contrast and eventually a bit of noise – I mitigated that with Gaussian Blur at 3 pixels.

This is very cool reflector! You have a fantastic combination in that very fine dog, and an extremely nice texture – even better that it’s yours – congrats, this is great!

  • Thanks for your encouragement Shallay! I have about a dozen of those Bokeh shots with different colours and scale/layout of the bokeh Hexagons. There was another shot much closer to the pooch (side on) that almost became this edit.
