Labradoodle by reflector

This dog loved running about on the beach with a few other dogs that were there to get some exercise and have some fun. It was jumping around and running about trying to get me to play with it – which I did, a little bit. I was keen to get many more portrait and action shots of it, but it was very hyper-active and hard to capture.

It’s a Labradoodle, which is a cross between a Labrador and a Standard Poodle.

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

Soooooo cute—and a gorgeous capture! The tones look great. XXSUEXX

  • Thank you very much Sue! :)xx I love deep contrasts and wanted to increase the contrast of the RAW shot for this one but I soon discovered that it would be at it’s best untouched.

Great catch!! – Attentive expression on the dog, in focus despite the difficulty his bouncing around must have caused, and what an ideal coat colour for the background – ripper shot!

  • I got some very nice shots, average ones and some total disasters at yesterday’s session. It was totally overcast and I really wondered why I’d bothered at first – crap light. But the flash or a wide aperture started to improve things. I got some really tragic shots when this and a few other pooches sat still then suddenly raced away – a few heads right down in the corner of the frame, or blurry “messes” at only 1/100! Thanks for the compliment! [ How’s the Zebra? If you don’t send me one, I’ll swipe my own Zebra! :-)]

    Ha-ha! There’s a group for those mess-ups – might be a fun add ;)

  • Did you ever see my “Moved Too Soon” shot? It got over 3,000 views and it’s technically rubbish! :)) I was trying to capture bats flying over tree-tops with a Point and Click and at the time I didn’t understand that you can’t take a shot in such dwindling light without a tripod.

  • Wuff! :)) Thanks a lot BP. It was a very playful dog that wouldn’t sit or stand still for more than 1 second.

Beautiful capture my friend.Nice work.CONGRATULATIONS on the FEATURE..Tom

  • Thanks a lot Tom! I’d love to have gotten much closer to fill the frame, but this excitable pup would have thought the “Game Is On!” and moved immediately.
