On The Rocks Series – Strange Shellfish
The second upload of a short series of probably about half a dozen images of sea life and the natural forms found at the beach.

The Cowrie Hole, New South Wales – Australia. I have added this image to the “ID Me” Group, hoping to find out what species it is.
While exploring the rock shelf and tidal pools at the beach late one afternoon I found this bizarre little creature. It was submerged in about 4 inches of water in one of the rock pools and it very slowly crawled along on the rocks. When I first saw it, it’s body was closed. Then it gradually started to open out its body and it looked like it might have been eating plankton that was trapped in the pool.
