I was photographing a few Nautical scenes at a spot on Lake Macquarie on a warm and sunny Summer afternoon. Then a large water bird called a Darter landed on the jetty and the focus of my shoot shifted to capturing shots of this bird.
A RAW Image as is and untouched straight from a Canon 450D (18-55 mm lens). I picked up my mini tripod to shoot this bird hand-held so that I could get closer to it on the uneven jetty. I moved slowly closer and closer to it to increase it’s scale in the frame-up, risking spooking it and having it fly away immediately.
