One of the local skaters called Daniel from my “home” park doing a kick-flip ollie. I extracted him from the background of the digital photo. Then I used photo filters to color him with the orange, yellow and green colors present in the text. The original digital photo I used, captured with a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500:

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

Thanks, I was happy with this design. It gave me that special feeling you get when you make a piece of art that looks good.

Thanks kcranmer. I need to start making more graphics and visual designs again because I really enjoy that area of computer generated art the most. Your choice of subject matter, colors, contrast and clarity are all very professional and striking.

This the best (for me) of this series.

  • Sorry Murray ! I got so into the whole RB thingy that I missed your great comment ! For me it’s a toss-up between Maxim Skateboards Logo and this one.

Thanks Marc. This is two years old now, but I was really happy with it when I designed it. I just need to stop skating every now and then and take more skate photos for stuff like this and for keepsakes.

Great design and graphics. I too like this one the best of the series. The red really grabs the eye. Hope you get your stuff into the skate magazines – it would look good there!

  • Thanks a lot Jan ! The skate magazines don’t know I exist, but getting my designs into them sounds awesome to me. That’s were my inspiration comes from for designs like this. But I don’t copy that work, I just look at it and it helps me to know what good art looks like and what’s possible.

thanks so much, love the color transitions on this – my future son-in-law just left a postion at Burton/snowboards for another bigger company doing graphic design work. You need to approach the individual companies and make your self knowm, you have some great stuff.

  • Thanks for the encouraging words ! Unlike your son, I have no qualification in Graphic Design. I just learned what i know by appreciating colour, how to use it and by visually dissecting imagery produced by the pro’s and then letting that knowledge flow into a design as I create it. But I do have a Cert IV in Digital Multimedia.

don’t discount your abi;ities, you have sold tshirts so that makes you a pro now

  • A Fledgling ! I need to develop some new skills in the edit software, I haven’t been challenging myself to have a spurt of increased knowledge lately. But I get restless first and then the motivation spurs me into action.
