A macro of a Grey-Striped Fly that I spotted on an interesting plant that I was photographing. It didn’t stay still for very long so I had to work quickly each time it flew onto another part of the plant. An untouched image captured with a Canon 450D and a standard Canon 55 – 250 mm lens.

grey striped fly, fly, insect, animal, plant, nature, creature, macro photograph, seed pods

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

What a brilliant macro. I am amazed that you spotted him!!

  • Thank you ! :) He looked like a part of the plant, until I peered around the side of the camera. I could push the camera right in there, but the camera would blur most of him out so I sacrificed scale for clarity.

Nice work. Great find. That`s why I never go anywhere without my camera, you never know what`s around the next bend…Tom

  • Thanks Tom ! There are quite a few bugs around here, I just had to develop the patience to chase them from plant to plant as they move around.
