I had to walk through really spongy grass to get to this waterhole. At one point, when I was standing still and deciding how to get to where I wanted to shoot, I could hear things moving in the grass. Snakes ? I don’t know but it made me feel uneasy !
This is a part of the Salt Marsh at the Kooragang Wetland Rehabilitation Project in Newcastle, Australia. The island is one of the largest environmental reclamation sites in Australia and covers nearly 1,600 hectares. The project was established in 1993 to heal some of the damage caused by settlement and farming over the last 200 years in the Hunter Valley.
