A interesting public Sculpture in the park at Wickham in Newcastle. It seems to represent a Sail and A Sextant. It’s only meters away from the Hunter River and just minutes away from our Dockyards.

Image taken using a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500.

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

Very interesting modern “sculpture” and I must say it’s also very pleasant to look at.
    Great capture indeed, my friend.

Many thanks Vasile, I think it looks like a great piece of Minimalist Sculpture. I thought that it would look great with the Sky as backdrop.
Thanks for making it a Fav !

  • I’m glad you like it Dinghy ! Apart from a Yacht on top of that pole, it’s the almost the perfect sculpture for a Lady like you ! Nav exams, what nav exams ? :) Thanks for the fav too !

Interesting shot…the sharp metal against the soft sky…

  • Thanks Jewd, I don’t like extreme minimalism but this sculpture made a nice compromise between too much and too little detail. Glad you like it !

Really like the strong lines on this and the angle you have taken it shows the work off well with the sky behind it.

  • Thanks a lot Karen, I was happy to spot this sculpture ! I thought it looked awesome with the contrasts between the browns and the blue sky.

I second Cheryls’ comment! Nice stuff in your sports collection too. Wolf

  • I should re-shoot this with my Canon 450D – it’s not that far away, in town. I’ve been concentrating on Skateboarding shots a lot in recent months, since I’m Skateboarding every weekend myself. Thanks for your feedback! In 50 years of taking photos, you have seen some phenomenal things, I’m sure! :)
