Girls Can Rip, Too!
When someone rides a skateboard or a surfboard really well, with heaps of control, style and power (which are all closely linked and feed into each other, increasing overall performance) they might be labelled a Shredder, a “Sick” Surfer or Skater, a Destroyer, Radical or a Ripper. In this photograph I’ve captured one of the surfers from the Women’s Professional Surfing Circuit who was in town to compete in “Surfest 2014”. She was having a “Free Surf” to get to know the surf break at Merewether while practicing her skills to keep them finely tuned for the next part of her Journey through the competitive heats (rounds).
When I look at this Photograph, I see a great wave, being ridden really well and I think to myself “she’s ripping!”
