Surfest 2014 (an international surfboard riding event) started on Monday the 17th of February and there are a ton of talented surfers currently visiting Newcastle to compete in the various sections of the Competition. When I arrived at Merewether Beach on Tuesday, there were lots of great surfers enjoying some clean, offshore, overhead waves and doing some excellent surfing.
I don’t know the name of this surfer yet (I’ll research it Online later). He was really powering it and surfing with lots of speed and control over his board. Here he is seen landing back on the wave after having done a 180 degree aerial trick.
