A Bird And Its Prey - Noisy Miner Bird by

“A Bird And Its Prey – Noisy Miner Bird”

I went to take macro photographs of the flowers at King Edward Park (in Newcastle, Australia) and I spotted this Noisy Miner bird feeding on insects in the flower beds. Every time this bird wasn’t looking I crept in a bit closer and then I crouched down for a low perspective for this shot. It had just caught a Centipede when I took the photo.

This shot was taken using a Canon 450D and a 55 – 250 mm lens:
F-stop: f/8
Exposure time: 1/320 sec.
ISO speed: ISO-400
Exposure bias: -0.3 step
Focal length: 250 mm [ on a 55-250 mm lens ]
WB: Cloudy
Aperture Priority

I enjoy the whole creative process from beginning to end and seek to discover and portray the world in all of it’s rich, intense colours and interesting forms, textures and subjects. I draw inspiration from the harmonious colour schemes often present in the natural environment when creating my Graphic Designs, or composing a Photograph or other work.

Beautiful capture & bird my friend ! Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR !

  • I’ve wanted to get nice shots of these birds for years but they always got spooked and flew away. This day was the right setting and circumstances, so I got my wish. Best wishes for Today and the coming Year! :)
