“British Bulldog – Beachcomber Series”
As I was photographing flotsam that was scattered along the beach, I suddenly became aware that a dog was barking at me. It started to growl a bit and jump forward at me (from about 10 to 20 feet away) and the girl who owned it assured me that it wouldn’t hurt me. There seemed to be something playful about it’s bark – it didn’t set my adrenaline racing immediately. It came in closer and still growled and jumped at me but I was able to pat it’s head and give it a rub on the back and it wasn’t a threat anymore. But man, was my hand drenched in salt water! I had to turn off my camera with my dry hand and later took this portrait and a few others of this cool dog.
