Yeah Trace, I don’t even remember what I did for the rest of that day but this was how it began. Great weather and all of our beaches looked this good.

aha, thats what I like. Being there, that is. There’s something very special about being there when so few others are about.

There were a couple of other people taking shots that morning. I had a fun shoot and 2 photos from King Edward Park ended up being featured. This was with my 3.2 MP camera in 2006. Thanks !

What I have learned is that the 3.2 MP cameras probably produce better quality than some of the more recent cams. DSLR excepted of course. My old Olympus, 3.2, same vintage, seems to be much more consistent than the newer Fuji S8000 (Wish I had not been so impulsive, the FZ28 I went out to buy that day is a much better bit of kit). Cannot wait til the Xmas period is over and I can start seriously looking at a dSLR.

I got some of my best close-up flower pics with that camera in just my first few days of getting into digital. But you can buy 8 and 10 MP point and clicks for about $ 130 now and all those extra MP’s translate to more depth of colour which can accentuate edge definition / clarity.
It’s all pluses and minuses, a great lens can give a camera the edge. I can’t view the 3.2 as more than a toy now, and the one I use now would make many people laugh ! Good luck with the shopping.
