The Closing Of A Day 2

We so often sit and watch television or pine the time away indoors doing something – something that in some ways adds very little to your life if you think about it for long. Yet just over the hill from where I live this is the view that you can witness. And it will be slightly different every day and every hour, and from different vantage points around Lake Macquarie in Australia.

The Closing Of A Day 2 belongs to the following groups:

ALL COUNTRIES - Streams, Brooks, Creeks, Rivers, Ponds & Lakes, All Things Orange, Australian Landmarks and Icons, Colors of Water, Happy Haven, Landscape Photography, Nature's Wonders, Rivers, Lakes and Dams 2 per day, Safe Haven, Sunrise, Sunset, The Patchwork and Vibrant and Vivid Color

Another beautiful shot! This is so serene and inviting….I can smell the salt air from here! Well done again!

Yes it does look very serene, thanks Penny. This is actually suburbia ( the houses were only 50 metres / yards behind me when I took the photo ), and those hills are also inhabited – it’s just not visible.

This is a very calming scene. I love the silhouettes of the buoy and shore bird. Beautiful orange colored sky, and the two toner black background, complete this photo very nicely!

Thanks for the great comment Judith ! Hovering above those hills yesterday were ” heavy ” clouds that were completely stacked to the rafters ! But I was going skateboarding and decided not to rush home to grab the camera – that scene or one similar will be replayed at some stage.

Thanks very much ! Our lake can look magical and like a wilderness scene, even though it’s surrounded by suburbia.

Hi Adgray ! Thanks very much for your great comment. I’m curious too. This one has similar views, but 4 times the Faves of version one. Is it because it looks a bit different to a usual sunset pic in its colours maybe ? Thank you for making it a Fave !

Thanks again Pamela ! The birds really love that little inland reef. Pelicans, Sea Gulls, Ducks and others hang out there for a bit of fishing. Thank you for making it a fave – these 4 images of my Lake are still right up there as my favourite landscape shots, even though it was only a 3.2 MP camera I caught them with.
