Thanks very much Michael ! I do volunteer desktop publishing in this building. I am having a big clean-up of my Gallery, 5 pages have gone and I’ll take another 7 down – stuff that hasn’t had a comment in months. Thanks a lot for the Fave !

nice photo. such history. how old is this building?

  • reflector replied

Thanks Mr Teeth, much appreciated ! It’s well over one hundred years old but was restored about 15 years ago. I tried to find out exactly but their web page was giving a server error.

Thanks very much Blossom ! It’s a treatment I developed about 10 days ago – Track By The River

interesting. my place is about 150 years old so i was curious if it was a contemporary thing.

  • reflector replied

It’s a blend. Where they could restore elements to their original state, they did. Door trimmings, gutters, and ceiling fans are more contemporary renditions of those old classics.

Great shot and I love the treatment of this old building. I love Ash Island – there’s so much to explore out there and there is so much good work being done with the rehab program there. Incidentally I found this info on the old school – Ash Island Public School in the county of Northumberland began as a Provisional School in February 1873. It was converted to a Public School in 1877, the exact date is unknown. The school closed in December 1968.

  • reflector replied

Thanks a lot Bev ! I don’t do much research for my images, I worry about copyright. It all has to be re-worded to be safe.
This is the School Masters House, but I’ve done a photo-restoration of the actual School for the Wetlands Centre for a Sign.

Great shot of a very significative building. Have learned a lot from previous comments.

This building is where they run a habitat reclamation project, restoring an island that had been farmed for 150 years and also had industry damaging the environment. Thanks for looking, it’s very humbling !

Nice work great treatment my friend. I love old buildings and places to we need to capture the beauty before they disapear from the weather. I do all I can to help in the old town where I live ,I`ve been on the board of Directors of our local Historical Society trying to make a difference. Tom

  • reflector replied

Thanks very much ! I’ve got a few shots in my Gallery, but I had about 15 before a recent tidy-up of my Gallery. There’s a lot there, but you have to hunt for it much of the time.
