Excellent work,James. The colors and composition are so good.

  • reflector replied

Thanks Lori ! This was taken as approaching the vessel. It’s so big I knew it would be hard to fit in the frame when I got in close. It’s a great ship – part of our country’s history.

I love ships. I always have. This one is a beauty.

  • reflector replied

It is ! I was supposed to get back in there today and get on the wharf it’s docked at, but time spent on RB made it impossible. I’ll still run a few close-up shots from Yesterday though.
This was gifted to Australia in 1988 for our Bi-Centenial by Britain. Young people with drug and crime problems go on extended trips on it and it changes their whole attitude and their lives !

Oh that’s a shame, I managed to get on her in Sydney some years ago and it was amazing, she’s such a beauty;)

  • reflector replied

I got some other shots of her, plus some arty photo subject matter yesterday. So it’s not all bad.

brilliant long view – sorry to miss the closeups tho – would have loved to have seen what you made of all the detail – you’ll just have to sneak aboard …and even stowaway?... another time….teehee…. ;)))))

  • reflector replied

    Thanks a lot Dingy ! :)
I’ve got a close up that will go on soon. I would have loved to get some shots on deck etc, but I missed out.

Great image. i would have loved to have gotten down there but had an archery shoot on. It is great to see the whole of the ship as there wouldn’t be many chances to get it all in, well done

  • reflector replied

Thanks Daniel ! Very true – later, I jumped down onto the break wall to get closer shots but even on Wide the frame was “over full”. Thanks a lot for the Fave !

yeh I looked mate, but mine was photoshopped, just for effect maybe I shouldn’t have done it that way, not sure

  • reflector replied

Christiane had about 5 shots, I don’t know if you saw them all – she used to have them all consecutively posted. It depends on what your aim was, re: Photoshop. I’ll have to catch up with your work more often too.

Great colour and composition. Really very nice.

  • reflector replied

Thanks very much Deb ! I’m glad I thought to get this shot as approaching, because when you got up really close it wouldn’t all fit in the frame, without including an unattractive sea-wall.
