Zaldy Infante
inspiring work.. love the abstract quality!!!
reflector replied
Thanks Zaldy ! It resembles a bed of nails I think ! I sat on the boardwalk that runs through the Mangrove to get directly above what I was capturing.
Pagly2
What an AMAZING Capture…...!!!.......Brilliant…...the qualiity and clarity is awesome…Thank you…

reflector replied
Thanks a lot Carly ! I didn’t know about that group. I love the fine detail in nature so a lot of my shots zoom in on that.

reflector replied
Thanks v.much linaji ! I was in this nature reserve for 2 hours but it felt like 10 minutes – I’m going to explore a lot more of this place, it’s stunning.
dinghysailor1
INcredible capture ! It could be on any scale – at first i thought you’d taken off in that plane and were loking down into the swamps …teehee :)
superb closeup (I presume) and fascinating – can’t wait to see more :)))
reflector
Yeah, that’s actually the Central Business District of Brisbane as I fly overhead on my way to kidnap a Scottish dog ! Nice service on the plane too ! >:D
I sat down so I could point the camera straight down and I was about 3 feet overhead, not 30000 feet !!! Thanks Dinghalator ( The Terminator with a Camera ).
Murray Swift
Excellent!
reflector replied
Excellent to receive that comment from you Murray ! Thanks ! :)

PJ Ryan

you’re most welcome
words matter to me
xx
reflector replied
Thanks Nicole ! Our lives revolve around words entirely – they are critical in every aspect of our lives, and the lives of our loved ones.
MuscularTeeth
reflector dude, this is freakin AWESOME man. i love it.
how’d you take the shot?
do you have a jetback or did you skate board high in to the sky, take the photo, and land gracefully?
reflector replied
Thanks Mr Teeth ! I was really stoked when i saw the possibility for this shot. There was a boardwalk through the mangroves and I sat down on it so that I could get as close as possible and point the camera straight down ” aerial view style ”. I don’t own a Jetback, I wondered what you meant there for a second !
MuscularTeeth
jetpack i should say.
we have a mangrove are in adelaid, i havent been there since i was a wee leprechaun. im going to have to go there sometime soon.. i wont be able to compete with your quality images – cos yu have things like a decent camera, talent and eyes.
:)
reflector replied
ROFLOL ! You type very well without eyes my Silicon Leprechaun friend ! You have boundless talent so quit your whingeing ! The camera isn’t mine, I confiscated it ! Who knows what you might find there at the Mangrove – just think “everything is fare game for my camera ” and away you go !
MuscularTeeth
i do type well without eyes. instead i have a trained monkey beside me which whispers the words on the screen.
i THINK its a monkey. having never seen it, im not too sure.
reflector replied
Why don’t you give it a hug and a big smooch ! If it tastes like Monkey, it probably is… Monkey !
nick board
Fascinating, i too thought this was from a plane or balloon
reflector replied
Thanks very much Nick ! it does look an unusual sight and a bit of an illusion when it come to scale.
Woodyk2
Great shot.
reflector replied
Thanks a lot Woodyk2 !
linaji
Good God!! I forgot you shot this one.. this is soooooo Nirvana!!
reflector replied
Thanks very much Linaji ! Wandering through a mangrove for the first time on a very convenient boardwalk straight through the middle of it was an incredible experience. Two hours felt like 10 minutes !

Thank you Hena ! I appreciate the Fave !
Virginia McGowan

THIS REMINDS ME OF A BED OF NAILS.I LIKE YOUR WORK BECAUSE IT MAKES ME THINK AND ALLOWS ME TO SLOW DOWN AND LOOK AT THINGS THAT I MIGHT OTHERWISE PASS OVER.
reflector replied
Thanks very much Michael for the great feedback ! Thanks for the fave too !
I was in that mangrove for a few hours, but it was like a time-warp. So fascinating and alien.
emolena
Very interesting to work !
reflector replied
Thanks very much Emolena, I’m glad you like it !
Joanne Bradley
Really neat image with great natural abstract quality!
reflector replied
Thank you Joanne ! I was really happy with this photo shoot and this was the most unusual photo I may have ever taken. Someone thought it looked like a shot of the city from a plane !
linaji
THANK YOU FOR THE BM..this piece is simply part of our joy… when you look at things from different angels you can find the lemonaid in the lemon… amazing work!
reflector replied
Hi Linaji ! Thanks very much ! I like that line – they don’t say that here. I started to re-organize my Gallery after I hit 30,000 views. I’m going to cull it down to 50% to make it easier to find things.
Keegan Wong
Awesome abstract!
reflector replied
Thanks very much Keegan ! I was very happy with it when I saw what it looked like on the back of the camera.
Prasad
Superb composition!
reflector replied
Thanks Prasad ! With these growing everywhere the only way to apply the rule of thirds was by the colour of the mud – that green mud at the bottom. :)
LindaR

Looks like a bunch of nails!! Not part of a tree! Great capture! Love the shadows they create! :))
reflector replied
Yeah, it really did look like a bed of nails ! I liked those shadows too – all very abstract. :0
CherishAtHome
omg! This is incredible! absolutely love the abstract pattern this creates… very bizarre.. but beautiful! well captured.
reflector replied
Many thanks Cherish ! It was amazing to be able to walk through the middle of a mangrove on a boardwalk. I sat down and took this after the first minute or two, and it’s nice and abstract.

Thanks Nancy ! :)
shallay
This has a very touchy, feely quality – makes me want to lean down and stroke it!
Like the way it all angles out from that central focus.
reflector replied
Thanks a lot ! It was my first time in a Mangrove and although it’s mainly shades of brown and green it was riveting just looking around. I’m glad you like the angle and the shot !
karenuk1969
You can look at this for ages & see different things in it! The area sounds wonderful for photographers.
reflector replied
It sure is, but you can get a bit “brown crazy” there. It depends on where you point the camera. When I get a better camera I’ll get bird shots there – it’s a haven for all sizes and types.
Sue Wotton
This reminds me of that photo in National Geographic of the camels taken from above (the guy gets in an ultralight apparently) where you are actually looking at the shadows, the camels being very tiny indeed. Well spotted, James, photography is as much about “seeing” as actually getting the shot, and you see extremely well.
reflector replied
Thanks a lot Sue ! Someone thought these were like buildings as seen from a plane. Thanks for the fave and the compliment !
Sue Wotton
My pleasure, James, its worth much more. It begs the question though: were you balanced precariously on a tree branch to get this, or what???
reflector replied
Thanks Sue, it’s been featured in a few groups. Please see my first reply for how it was shot.
Sue Wotton
That will teach me not to read all the comments lol
reflector replied
... :)
Incredible capture ! It could be on any scale – at first i thought you’d taken off in that plane and were looking down into the swamps …teehee :)
Reply:

reflector replied
The first part of that reply disappeared !
Cheryl Lunde
Stunning Abstract, play with your eyes a bit, very nice!
reflector replied
Thanks very much ! It really looks like a bed of nails to me, or a city looking down from a plane.
Sekans

reflector replied
