Chameleon III
Part 3 of a 3 part series.
This drawing almost made me quit drawing altogether. O.o Yes quit drawing. It was done for my final project in my Independant Art Studies course in grade 12. It is the third part of a trilogy.
So almost the entire time I was drawing this (probably a whooping 40+ hours, unheard of for myself) I would chant “I hate drawing, I hate drawing, I HATE DRAWING!” I honestly did hate drawing at that moment. It was a charcoal series and the only way I could get away from a more painful art experience (painting) was to do something big, that clearly required effort. The course is supposed to be half paint half draw. I managed to get away with 3 paintings instead of 4 by doing this trilogy. And now am I ever glad that I did. It is one of my favorite pieces. Whenever I’m feeling down or whatever, I can just look at this drawing (much better in real life) and think of how awesome I am. LOL I’m so full of myself.

talent is sometimes a hard and thankless taskmaster yet still you are its slave to do its bidding and be at its beck and call for ever – congratulations on finishing and loving what you did:) It was worth it!
