This Arctic Hare was trying its hardest not to be seen against the snow. I was amazed how close we did get. This is one of our many wild inhabitants here in Alert, Nunavut Canada.

They really are beautiful… when you can actually see them and get close. Usually they are off running so fast you just see a snowball running

Thanks Steve. The only reason we usually see them, is when they are moving. I am sure that we have walked past hundreds that just sit there and watch us.
