The gift of petals

Brunonia australis is also known as Blue Pincushion and Native Cornflower. It is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows widely across Australia being found in woodlands, open forest and sand plains.

The leaves are about 10 cm long and grow from the base. Flowering occurs in spring and early summer, with hemispherical clusters of blue flowers developing on a stem about 50 cm in height.

The out of focus yellow flower is a Billy Buttons (Craspedia sp.)
