Where. Little Gaddesdon, Bedfordshire, UK
What: A Tree
When: Today, 5.10am
With what: Sony RX100

I revisited this scene with a hopeful expectancy and slightly better clothing, including Wellington Boots. Stupidly I was still wearing jeans. Needless to say, they and I were soaked again getting to the slightly newer viewpoint I chose for this shot. It’s also amazing how heavy jeans get when they are wet, certainly how quickly and how full the boots get after ten minutes of wading through the field. It’s no wonder I’m now on antibiotics for a nasty foot complaint. Oops.

Also, I’m not sure when to predict, or even if it’s possible to predict, good conditions for taking photographs. I’ve been hoping for mist, sun rays, maybe a passing deer and some flying birds to enter this scene. Maybe they did but not on my watch.

I shot this on film and digital, the previous shots look amazing on film, I just still don’t have an ideal way to scan it in. Hopefully the dreaded eBay will come up trumps.

I hope you like it.

Sony RX100. ISO 80, f11, 1/60th. Chucked into CS6, stitched together and a signature shoved on it. It’s amazing how different Photoshop can get with the same scene when stitched together. This one seems more compressed than three other versions of scene I’ve done in the past.
