Artist's Description

Where. Little Gaddesdon, Bedfordshire
What: A Tree
When: Today, 5am
With what: Sony RX100

I took a shot of this scene a few weeks ago with my iPhone and my film camera. The films are now ready to be picked up so am quite excited to see what mess I made of this scene with that.

I went back again today to scout around to see if there was a better viewpoint.
So, after around 3 miles of walking, scaring three very large dear, electrocuting myself on a fence and getting absolutely soaking wet from the huge amount of dew from the foliage I reasoned that the original viewpoint was the best angle. Just at the point I was about to take the shot with my Rolleiflex I accidentally kicked the tripod with her camera attached into the field. It still seems to work but it is now very dirty and wet. I am in so much trouble.

Plus when I got back and review the shots I noticed I’d accidentally turned on the video recording of me wiping the camera clean with a snotty tissue. Oops. Delete.

Operation dinner out is on the cards, hopefully a nice meal will help her forget I damaged her camera.

In a week or so this will be amazing as there is a field of Rape seed growing. It’s about 80% coverage of Yellow so far. So hopefully I’ll get to go back when the conditions are perfect.

I hope you like it.

Sony RX100. ISO 80, f11, 1/60th. Chucked into CS6, a signature shoved on it and converted to RGB B&W and sharpened.
