Walk on by
To be honest I was slightly concerned whether this chap was just drunk, stoned… or whether he’d shuffled off his mortal coil. Passers-by didn’t seem too worried though. I guess that’s life in the big city for you.

Amazing work. I know it’s not staged, but it looks soooo arty, and thought through!! Fabulous!!

Wonderful work Rose,
Very dramatic and powerful image.

This is really good, you’ve captured the essance of the subjects while leaving plenty of background to enhance the overall mood of the scene. I would have probably cropped right in to focus on the subjects but I see that would have been wrong.
Stefan Chirila
indeed … how sad :(
JimFilmer
a great social comment -how we isolate ourselves from the parts of society that we don’t want to know – where community is no longer a group, or many but becoming oneself only

Yes its true and yes people do…..........just walk on by, now if they were laying there they ( ?) would want someone to stop of course…........but since its no one you really know they think well its ok….........some never even notice there is a real life there, sad but true…........great shot and it tells multitudes of stories
Ann E. Chapman
This is a powerful shot….... truly a sign of our times.

Really powerful, stunning work…........ It still amazes me how we just walk on by people so obviously distressed…...... we really have lost a lot of our humaness….....

this piece speaks volumes to me.
i don’t live in a big city, and if there are any homeless in my town they hide…[most are arrested though for squatting in abandoned buildings…so sad] but i’ve gone to toronto a couple of times and i was with a tour group on queen street, i was in the 10th grade and we were touring citytv and muchmusic and there was a homeless man right beside the citytv building, and the tour guide said to us “just step over him.” and i was like, “that’s so disrespectful” so i went up to him, gave him my packed lunch, and some change and told him to have a good day. i wish i could have stayed to hear his stories…
i’m not used to seeing homeless people.. but when i see pictures like this, or any on the streets of the big city, i feel so incredibly bad.. my heart sinks for them.. thank you for sharing this with us…
