When did soft porn become art?
I know I’ve been hibernating for a while but someone (DS) woke me up. He seems to like my contentious threads – and who am I to argue?
Well as it happens, arguing is my thing..so tell me..
Why is it there is so much nudity masquerading as art on this site?
Red Rag is no prude but he’s not stupid either…
Why do people kid themselves that just ‘cos it’s nudity it’s art?

It’s been a while since you’ve sculled a medium-sized barrel of Red Bull, so I trust you’re currently in the process of rehydrating.
When did soft porn become art?
I’m still trying to figure out the difference between soft porn and art. Of course I’m alone on that score due to everyone else already knowing the difference. Silly me.
Sometimes I have five minutes up my sleeve to flick through the ever-increasing pages here at the bubbledome searching for sunsets and baby photos, and I tend to get distracted by puppy dogs tails and photos of the family feline.
Recently I ventured into the main RB forum at 8am and was confronted with a photo of a woman’s vagina.
Surprisingly, this is not the first thing I expect to see at that time of day, due to study committments and a need to have breakfast.
RedRag, have you heard of the saying “art is in the eye of the beholder”? I have, and I’m beginning to believe more so that society should be covering up for the sake of protecting itself from U.V. radiation.
Of course someone is going to say “hey dummy, if we’re taking nudie pics inside, no-one will get their private parts burnt”.
Well, I’m all for setting a trend, and believe what goes on outdoors should go on indoors. For the sake of our young ones, please set an example and cover up at all time. That includes times when you’re having a bath, a shower and swimming 25 laps at the local pool.

Hmm…RR has done a quick scan and discovered a few elements that seem to determine when porn becomes art. In no particular order, porn is art when:
-There’s fake blood involved
-There’s a badly performed look of angst on the models face
-weaponry makes an appearance
-the shot is converted to b&w (unless of course it has the afore mentioned fake blood)
-A vagina takes up at least 67% of the screen
-The shot is accompanied with a bad, punny headline with suggestive overtones
-The majority of comments are from blokes
A bull has so much to learn…

Fake blood in soft porn images. That’s an interesting concept being used in art. How are people supposed to take that type of art seriously if the blood is fake?
When I become embroiled in art direction with deciduous trees, the red autumn leaves are the real deal! No way am I going to try and pull the wool over the eyes of the viewer.
