The River

Across the river you lie, waiting for happiness. The river is raging, I tried to reach you but it was to strong,.
I managed to give you my heart but happiness could not pass the massive stream. The River swirls and its hunger is endless, many victims it has consumed.
I sit and wait for that water to heel, looking at you threw tear soaked eyes. I will not have you, not now. I throw words toward you asking you to hear before they hit the ground silent and mute.
I feel your stare as I look downward, head huddled at my knee, I feel the cold wind blow of this tragic occurrence the life and love of you and me.
