I found this sign outside of a Baptist church in Granville, Ohio. In trying to come up with a description for this image I find myself in tears, grieving unlike any other time I’ve thought about the war. I am grateful to the makers of this sign for not forgetting the pain and suffering of the Iraqi people. I am incredibly sad over the loss of our men and women, because they died thinking they were protecting me.

Thank you for shareing this powerful image with the world Tanya, It opens a lot of eyes to the
damage that war has brought on both sides. With war no one wins in the end.
The total count grows everday with more deaths of both men, women and even CHILDREN.
I will definately check out the peace organization you have posted at
www.afsc.org
Thanks again

Please don’t regret or de-value the noble cause these men and women gave their lives for; as they believed and were told they were fighting for in Iraq & Afghanstan & America.
You can question the idiot who sent them there; but don’t dis-honor thier costly service.
It is another sad, tragic waste of human noble potential. But these young volunteered to do something good packaged by someone bad.
I am old enough to remember 100s of firiends lost in the Viet Nam “Police Action”. We tried to impeach Nixon – to bad it was not for war crimes.

Dave, I appreciate your comment here, though I only partially agree with what you seem to be saying. Of course I regret our soldiers dying. Fighting in the war in Iraq is not a noble cause, though the sense of honor and bravery in wanting to serve your country is. Please do not confuse the mission with the soldiers. Noticing the difference honors our troops, while pretending that the Iraq war is a noble cause does them and our country a great disservice. I am sad and angry that people are being killed in my name.
