Greenway (Devon, England), now owned by the National Trust, was the holiday home of Agatha Christie and her second husband Max Mallowan from 1938 to1959.
The current house dates from the 1780s, though it replaced an older Tudor building, occupied by Devon sea-faring family, the Gilberts, over 200 years earlier.
The house and gardens overlook the River Dart and the property includes ’Ralegh’s Boathouse’, named for Sir Walter Raleigh, a relative of the Gilbert family, and a frequent visitor to Greenway.
