Ancestral home of the Elven Knights of Arundel (sorry, made that bit up, sounds like something from Lord of the Rings, but I believe the following is true …).
The restored mediaeval castle at Arundel (West Sussex, England) dominates the neighbouring town and the surrounding landscape.
The castle was founded on Christmas Day in the year 1067 by Roger de Montgomery, the first Earl of Arundel, an honour bestowed on him by his cousin William the Conqueror.
For the last 400 years the castle has been in the family of the Duke of Norfolk.
