Gothic Cottage
Gothic Cottage, Stourhead
The Gothic Cottage on the Stourhead Estate in Wiltshire, England was built by Henry Hoare in 1785, possibly as a summer house.
Originally known as the ‘Watch Cottage’, the church-style windows afford a superb view across the lake and gardens.
In the summer of 2006, the cottage was decorated by local artists as the ‘Gingerbread House’ in the Brothers Grimm tale ‘Hansel & Gretel’ for an exhibition at the estate.
