They really do get vicious!! Great catch!

Thank You Nelson. After getting this shot I was astounded that the one stabbed still tried to get more sugar water. He looked drunk. Appreciate the favorite and support. Hugs xxx

Thanks Hilary. You would think so, my neighbor has seen them come up from beneath and skewer them like a shish kabob and fly with them on their beak.

Wow did think these guys would mess with each other, dangerous..
redhawk replied
Thanks Larry. I would not have believed it myself if I had not gotten this picture. I have a friend who saw a rufus with another one on its bill flying around like skewering a bit of meat. Appreciate the comments and taking time to view my work.

Glenna Walker
Oh, I had two that were fighting as well, one had an injury to it’s neck, it was clear to see, I hope it survived. This is just too sad!!!!!!!!
redhawk replied
Yes Glenna it is too sad, unfortunately it happens and especially now when the weather is going to change in a few months and they head south away from the winter. Werever feeders are in rural areas they will take over the feeder and not let anyone else use it.
