Profile

I`m a university student in the final year of an international politics degree. I`m currently in Japan, studying the Japanese language, but I`ll be heading back home to Aus and getting a real job soon. I don`t get to write as much as I like to cos the study regime over here is pretty intense.

I`m　２１, which I have been informed often (and i assume accurately) is Very Young. Actually, I am inclined to suspect that everyone else is just very old. After all, if you’re 30 a third of your life is already over…

In almost every media my taste seems to be at least 40, and English. The Goon Show, Monty Python, Q (a short-lived TV series by Spike Milligan) and Douglas Adams, for example. More recent creative gurus include Terry Pratchett and Dylan Moran (of Black Books fame).

I tend to write humorous pieces, short stories mostly. I`m looking to start entering my work in competitions, to get some indicator of my level of ability, and because winning is a blast. I know because it happened to me once when I was 12. I’m still running on the adrenalin.
