Farewell Maurice Sendak

Maurice Sendak Quote: My big concern is me and what do I do now until the time of my death. That is valid. That is useful. That is beautiful. That is creative. And also, I want to be free again. I want to be free like when I was a kid. Where we just had fun. I've had my career. I've had my success. I want to see me to the end working, living for myself. Ripeness is all. Now, interpreting what ripeness is our own individual problem. So, what is the point of it all? Not leaving legacies. But being ripe. Being ripe.

First George “Goober” Lindsey, now Mr. Sendak. They made me think and regale of simpler times and can’t help but feel the world is a little sadder.

The world moves on but those of us who were a part of something will mourn and feel the loss. So many losses lately.

Loved his work and read and pored over many of his books. Adored his illustrations…the world is a little bit smaller without him…Hope you are “where the wild things are” Maurice…..Farewell….

My Mom used to read me ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ as a child. I loved it so much. And even though I am older now I still find the beauty in the simplicity of the book. I think that the moral of the story was imagination. And in the world we live in today, that is truly important.
    R.I.P. Maurice Sendak.
