The moment for In The Moment is approaching

The In The Moment full colour journal will go on sale to members on February 29th

Only 1000 copies will ever exist, showcasing some of the most amazing art and writing on RedBubble. I have seen the design layouts already and it is a stunning book. (The collector geek in me is crying with happiness)

It will officially go on sale at 12 noon GMT on February 29th.
If you are published in the journal as an artist or a writer, you will receive one complimentary copy along with a $200 RedBubble voucher. The rest of us will have to part with AU$29.95

In the spirit of giving our RedBubble family the best odds of snatching up this splendiferous journal, we are not advertising it in any external media, only here on the site directly to you. And in the spirit of fairness, there is a maximum of two copies per order, and the numbered copies will be distributed at random.

Next Thursday we will reveal which works have been published in the final journal and give you detailed information on how to purchase your own copy of In The Moment.

thank you Jo Obrien…I am aware of when it goes out…..however as “In The Moment” has something like 3,346 members….living on all parts of the globe….the time difference…jobs etc etc etc. could make it difficult for some to BE there at that Time or even Day…..my question I think was a simple one….and one I believe RB could consider.

Wow : can’t wait! Lee Wilde did make a good point, though. This publication would be an excellent showcase for the talent on this site. That said, I understand Redbubble would prefer to sell 1000 copies (less those given away to contributors) to a definite audience rather than commit to a much larger print run which would have lessened demand.

There’s a quote relating to manufacturers of luxury automobiles : “Always make one less car than the population demands” this keeps exclusivity, and ensures that those who really want it can not afford to delay.

Also, might I request an hourly countdown on the homepage just to remind everyone not living on the international dateline or in the city of Greenwich how many hours it is until release (because I’m only semi-certain 12 noon GMT is 11pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time on the same day)

GMT IS 11pm (night time) Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time, on the same day, just as berndt2 has already stated. If you really want one, then I dare say that staying ‘up’ til then shouldn’t really be a problem.

With a global website, releasing it at a time that will suit everyone was never really going to be possible. If I had a dollar for every collectors convention I’ve literally camped out for…. haha

Of course that said, the issue is being discussed and there is an investigation on how to improve things next time to make it a bit easier for more people.

Jo, perhaps future releases can be done in bouts, rather then all X (1000 in this case) being released at the same time, stage the release to cover all the major timezones or have 100 available every 2 hours or something like that, giving people that would be sleeping or otherwise engaged (work, whatever) a fair chance at getting a copy ?

Jo, if my calculation is anywhere near correct, this means at 9:00am your time on Thursday, it will be 2:00am my time on Wednesday. Please let me know if this is correct. I won’t be able to get a copy. By the time I awake the copies would have sold out. Help!! I NEED A COPY.
