I remember telling Mark what a wonderful photograph he had 2 months before the competition and looky now! Congrats Mark. It’s always easy to spot good Art!

Okey dokey, putting on my writer’s HQ @ redbubble hat. A fedora today I think.
Here are the answers to a few of your questions above.
1) Other writing runners up. There are a further 10 short stories and 12 poems that have been selected for the publication. If we can fit more writing in – we will. Like Jo jo said, we are finalising the layout now and have a large team of trained hamsters running 24/7 in lime green plastic wheels to get the thing out by middish February.
2) No comments on the writers here because we decided to let their work speak for itself here. Comments will appear in the book.
3) There were about 1800 writing entries alone and our judges had a big job. They plan to have more than one stiff drink as a result. In fact, when I last saw them, they were still in the bar downing multiple whiskies and vodkatinis.
4) Well done to everyone who entered. It really was amazing reading it all. Thank you for sharing your art with us.

oh when can we buy the book? how much is it ? I thought there were only a limited number of copies…??

either this going to be a really thin publication, or were there other entries accepted that didn’t necessarily win a prize?

Congrats to all very worthy winners. A very high standard in this comp., and reassures me that if I had got it together to enter I probably wouldn’t have stood a chance. Great work guys – and that includes the judges..

First thing, the layout of the book needs to be finalised. Only when that has happened will the final selection of artworks be known. At that point RedBubble will let us know so we can be all happy for each other. It is a limited edition of (I believe) 1000 numbered copies. Some of these will go to winners and runners up and some will be available to us all. RedBubble are not about to sneak out and put them up for sale while we are all sleeping. We’ll hear about it before it happens with all the details we need to know. So don’t stress about getting one just yet :)

Jo, spot on regarding the publication.

1. It will be 1000 numbered copies.
2. We are intending to have it ready by no later than mid February. We will give everybody plenty of notice of exactly when it goes on sale.
3. We are still finalizing price as we have not yet finalized finishing touches. But we will be selling it on a cost recovery basis. It is not a money making excercise
4. The designers are finalizing overall layout and until that is complete we cannot advise who the other published works will be.

Expect more breaking news shortly.

Congratulations to all winners. Well done, for all those who took part in this competition. All of them deserve a “bravo” for spending time widening their imagination. A special mention, a “well done” from my part to Geir Floede for “Endless walk”. For those disappointed in the writing winners, I could probably agree with them as very often happened with literature criticism, but not because they are “sour grapes” as someone said (I think that if there is such tendency nowadays in writing, it is something, philologists or historians should examine, not condemn), but because once more the criteria are not evident. But what can you do? It is not science, where we have the results of an experiment, on the contrary it is a subjective point of view according to the judge’s background, philosophy and knowledge.

Congratulations to all the winners and everyone! These and all the ones I have read and seen are wonderful works of art and creativity!
