I received cards the other day, and I’m sorry to say, the quality was quite bad, blacks were grey and they do not look anywhere as beautiful as they are shown in RB :(

OMG that’s so exciting! A couple of months ago, after a lot of wading through the internet jungle, I came across a site that allowed me to fairly cheaply create and order my own postcards. However I reckon it would be fair to say that yours will be better quality. I can’t wait to get some!

The postcards are a great idea. Just one thing: if the artist’s name, work title and a link to the artist’s profile are on the back of the postcards, is it possible to put the same information on the back of the greeting cards?

One tiny point. My prices are in Euro and all other products show up in millimeters. Cards show up only in inches. A specification of size in millimeters even in the Description of the cards would be helpful IMO.

question please because I am very interested……I shoot mostly square – besides the obvious square accommodation of the shot in the front – does the back remain landscape in 4 X 6 and will one see the photograph center square in landscape as well or (for lack of better words) 6 X 4?

some of the folding was a little off on my first order of the new greeting cards…has this been looked at? the colours seemed fine compared with the same thing printed the old way, though I have one outlet that still prefers the old style so I hope they will remain available.
I’m a little confused by how much the artist receives from a sale….if the discounted postcard base price is $1.01 Aus then the markup I receive from the sale is still $1.01 for a 100% markup? this might all be beyond my small brain…I sold a new card recently and really couldn’t work it out

One issue I’ve noticed is that the “about cards” text shown on bubblesites is now outdated. It says

Greeting Cards are printed on our Durst Theta and bonded to high quality 200gsm card for the best internal writing surface, then creased and packed with an envelope. They come ready to write on, give away or just admire.

However, when viewing cards through the redbubble site itself, there’s a much more detailed description of greeting cards and a separate description for postcards.

Great! But I would like to know how the “bleed” works. With a greeting card in portrait format, it gets trimmed at the top, bottom, and right hand side (i.e. the spine of the card does not bleed). However, your preview for the postcard shows that it gets trimmed at the top, bottom, and LEFT hand side. Is that what we should expect? I like to produce cards that are precisely centered, but this will be difficult if the products are trimmed differently.

Aloha, I am so happy to know the postcards are available at last. However I feel they are the base is overpriced. There are postcards available for so much less, and if I mark up at all, they become too expensive for a postcard. I have another important concern, as I ordered a greeting card a couple of weeks ago, and when I received it, the card was well packaged, however the saturated colour appears to bleed and has visible streaks. So I am disappointed with the poor quality. I also am quite livid that the printing company actually printed my private cell phone number on the outside address label for the entire world to see. What are they thinking? Can you please contact them and tell them not to do this? My private cell phone number is confidential information. Mahalo nui, thank you so much.

Sharon is absolutely right. It was the same for me when I received the greeting cards… the package had traveled all the way from Australia to Sweden with my number on it… NOT GOOD!!!

Continuing my previous question about the “bleed”: I wrote “However, your preview for the postcard shows that it gets trimmed at the top, bottom, and LEFT hand side.” RedBubble wrote “You’re correct. We’re bleeding from the center out on the postcards, so there will be a small amount of trim on all 4 sides. The preview you see is what you’ll get.” However, my preview shows trimming on the top, bottom, and LEFT side, NOT “all 4 sides”. Either way, it is unfortunate that greeting cards and postcards are trimmed differently. It makes it impossible to create a perfectly centered card image.

See Lenka’s preview above? The top of the card is trimmed more than the bottom, so the image is slightly off-center. The bleed is NOT equal on all sides. Conversely, on a greeting card, the bottom is trimmed and the top is not, so the image is off-center but in the opposite direction. At least if the trimming was consistent we could make allowance for it, but since it is different for different products there is nothing we can do to create a properly centered image :-(

When I purchase or receive a post card, I like to see a little bit of descriptive info. on the message side. I am reading here that this info. will be the title of the work and the artist’s name. WHen I am purchasing or recieving a post card, I want to see a brief description describing where it is and/or what it is. I believe if you give us an opportunity to write a post card description of maybe 30 words or less, this would be a big plus.
As it is now, it looks like if I want to provide more specific or description info re the work, I may need to rewrite some of the titles of my photos.
Earlier I asked about the possibility of including more detailed descriptions than just titles on calendars. I would like to suggest that again as well.

So the teething problems have been sorted out I got an order the other day of greeting cards quality was not good and also the image descriptions where all cut short making them unreadable..??has this been fixed as well …

Is there somewhere that you tell us the correct size to make pics for postcards so that they will be edge to edge? Same with the new cards. I usually size all my pics to 11 × 14 and they no longer appear edge to edge on the cards either.

If I have an image that is square (eg, 2800×2800 pixels), how can I tell RB that the image should be placed horizontally on the card? I want a postcard that is horizontal but the preview is always vertical. Do I need to reupload the image with it slightly longer on the horizontal edge in order to do that?

even tho this is a large file approximately 8MB apparently the dimensions of my canvas for my painting do not conform to the dimensions of a postcard :))))

bulk printing at 16 cards, what if I want 100 or 250 thats my normal print qty for post cards

I have been so looking forward to postcards! thank you! … however and I say this with a sigh, grouping them with the greeting cards has become a huge problem for many of us … if one designs for the card and it’s trimming requirements then the postcard is off center and visa versa … if I had a wish that could come true I’d wish that the postcards were a separate option as the different kinds of prints … the group I host, Creative Cards has been through a lot .. learning how to precisely design with the trimming process in mind, then the big format change and now the postcard problem … we may be a small group but we take pride in our work .. to design for a card then have a postcard that doesn’t look good .. well it’s disheartening .. now mind you we love postcards but just wish they didn’t have to be grouped with cards

I would not pay that much for a postcard no matter how good it is. I think you need to lower your prices.

… and those who bought greeting cards for their personal art collection (as I did!) will now buy postcards! They are less expensive and can be put into an album! I’m happy with that as a buyer, but not as a seller! LOL

Postcards are a favorite, I am glad they are offering them, and I will have to check them out from Redbubble. I just purchased over $200 of postcards from Zazzle.com where I have been designing postcards. I have been pleased with products from Redbubble and Zazzle.com

The Post Cards look goo … I am planning to print a few … However here are a couple of thoughts:
a) it would be nice to have an out-sized 7″×5″ (125mmx175mm) Postcard
b) it would be nice to be able to add some print to the reverse side … in fact leaving us the option to either print a single caption/promotional paragraph as would be suitable for a “normal” Post Card or to fill most of the “message” panel so as to produce a card that is to be used for promotional purposes – such as promoting an exhibition.

Dear Redbubble can let me know what would the cost be to print 200 postcards. I am preparing a thank you card for 200 guests for a wedding. The post cards will be one of two designs, 1) one design with a blank space to write the guests names, or 2) different cards with the 200 names of each guest each card. I look forward to your email.
