I’m seriously impressed by the honour of being in the Top 5. Flickr was a nightmare of the most disturbing kind: the site allows people to graffiti other people’s work for “fun”! To stop it, you have to stop receiving the comments you post the work for in the first place. I was never madder, to be subjected to such crass behaviour and to have it SPONSORED by the site.

No, I won’t slam Flickr when I vote but Red Bubble isn’t in the league with flirting and snapshot sites that are just spin offs from search engine sites, i.e. Yahoo. This site is about a lot more than that or I wouldn’t even consider being here after being exposed to Flickr’s foolishness.

My guess is before this game is over everybody is going to need to get everybody they know to vote because we are up against a site that is 100 times larger than we all are. But we can do it because we are like Navy Seals or at least fur seals.

And this is also interesting. Only two sites have been commented on enough to get in the tag cloud (and this is from all 500 or so nominees). One is Facebook (you may have heard of them) and the other is our own RB. So comment and tag (with RedBubble)

Yes, it is going to require friends, families and workplaces to really get us across the line. Flickr seems to be getting votes but no comments. My guess is that Yahoo has simply got its 10,000+ employees to vote which is not exactly in the spirit of it all.

I was wondering why suddenly there was a surge of comments for my Bubblelicious t-shirt – which was designed oh so long ago when i first discovered Redbubble. Then i clicked the VOTE FOR US button today, and found out! I already voted and twitted, facebooked (the works) last week.. so hadnt clicked the VOTE for RB promo links, cuz i already knew what it was about..

As the design was made when RB didnt have black tshirts and different type of printing production..the design looked a bit ‘off’. But i’ve fixed that now..and also dropped the price to a nice rounded figure :)

I’ve got one of these tees (white) compliments of RB..and it comes out really nice – and i get people asking and reading it all the bits and pieces i’ve written, each time i wear it :)

Flickr is also another big favorite site of mine since it first began, but Redbubble won my vote for it being an Australian and how it has given me a great boost of getting my designs/name out there thru their kindness in choosing my designs in several promotions, and i never can thank the RBubble Crew enough for that :)

Whereas RedBubble is a community dedicated to the development of people’s creativity and allowing them to share (and sell) to the world. Very different objectives and offerings.

Sorry I cant vote for a site that doesn’t have any direct line of support for its members. Redbubble isn’t functioning properly & image tags simply don’t work. Why don’t they work; I’d love to know & I’d love to ask someone at Redbubble directly but ooops support@redbubble has been suspended. Well that’s as much use as a candle in a thunder storm.
How many days has the site failed to function properly well I make it at least three days.
If you want my vote you’ll have to wait until you sort out the issues that are currently ruining the Redbubble experience for myself & many other Redbubble members.
Sorry I had to make contact this way but it seems like the best possible course of action in the current climate due to the total lack of support currently on offer.

A Vote for RedBubble, we have 22%, Flickr has 61%. I think it’s just because of the sheer volume of users and the popularity of it on search engines. The survey doesn’t mean it’s better, just more widely known. I bet most of the people that voted for Flickr have never even heard of the other four sites.

Sorry, this member will not be voting – as RB has increased prices for UK members only by 11.5%, on the basis of exchange rate moment between Australia and the UK. (RB’s explanation). In addition we get charged an additional 15% so called VAT, which is very curious, given RB is an Australian registered company. Our prices are 27% higher than anyone else on RB.

Hallo Folks I have NEWS for you – Sterling did not weaken by 11.5%, but a mere 5.6% against the Aussie Dollar.

You must be joking. Why does RB feel the need to win a Webby award? Why the need to be so globally praised and accepted? I believe it has already established itself fairly well with its members. Is that not enough?

What makes RB unique and so well liked is the fact that it is NOT in the same league as Flickr. Nevertheless, by soliciting votes for a pointless award; RB has incriminated itself in craving the same populist mentality that flickr enjoys.

I fear that the more expansive RB grows, the more watered down and less desirable it will become. Sooner not later, the endearing qualities that creative people find in RB will be diluted with mediocrity.

I for one will abstain from voting.

The first second or the last…it is not important. IMO quality of the redbubble is very high. I was member on flickr and fotki (still I have a payed account but no photos) but I am here on redbubble :)

Do we need to register to vote?

Why should we vote for RedBubble? Why should we ask OTHERS to vote for RedBubble?

I have gotten a Security Certificate Warning today when I have logged in. There is a thread on the support pages where several other members have noted the same thing.

I have also received 2 emails (NOT Bmails) from RedBubble stating that they have listened to our recent complaints and will abide by members’ requests.

YET, nothing has changed. There’s no word about this Security Certificate thing.

RedBubble is now based in San Francisco. It is the MIDDLE OF THE WORK DAY in the Pacific Time Zone (where I am writing from).

I am seriously considering just leaving RedBubble. I love the friends I have made here, and have learned a lot from the artists I have encountered here, but the site itself (and, by extension the webmasters) is APPEARING shady.

When you lose trust, man, it’s all over. Not being a member of RedBubble will have absolutely NO IMPACT on my photography, or my love of photography. I will continue.

I am recommending to anyone who cares to change your vote over at the Webby’s, or to NOT vote for RedBubble.

What the hell do they think this will look like to any potential customers who try to visit and get a Securtiy Certificate warning that the certificate was issued to another web address?

If there’s no response or resolution by the end of business today, 5pm PST April 23rd, 2009, then I will delete my account before they can rip us off, which is the first suspicion that occurs to me. I was member of flickr and fotki and I have bad experience with the speed and thinks which you described too. As Unix user I had many problems too but I don’t have on redbubble yet :). And BTW flickr and fotki are not free.

Just finnished putting my vote in for the Bubble site with the Red bit. And at the time Redbubble is comming second. With Flckr in the lead, however if it was cast on the comments then the Bubble would be way ahead…..275 comments to date…wow!
