Updates to MyBubble
Hello,
The new MyBubble overview page has been up for a week and we’ve received lots of feedback – both positive and negative. Thanks for this feedback, we do listen and try to make sense of it all (although it’s not always easy – often as many people say they love something as say they hate something).
We’ve released a few updates today:
1) When you load multiple pages and click on a link then click back the new MyBubble will remember where you were (previously it would take you back to the top of the screen).
2) Group News now appears as a forum thread in each group – so that people can respond to each news item. This change was in response to a concern from some group hosts that the new group news isn’t receiving as much attention as the old group BubbleMail. As I wrote last week We think it’s vitally important that hosts have the ability to communicate effectively with the members of their group(s) – so we’ll be watching this change closely to ensure that this channel of communicate remains open.
I don’t think we’ve finished with group news so over the next week will be making more changes to make group news more prominent. For example, our current thinking is that there would be a little indicator beside “My Groups” to indicate that you have new new group news.
3) We’ve updated the activity events on the MyBubble page so that after you’ve looked at an item the link becomes grey and there’s a little ‘tick’ beside the link (just to make it easier to keep track of what you’ve already seen). See below:

4) We’ve reintroduced the feed ‘group moderation of my work’
We’re still digesting more of the feedback – so there will be additional changes over the next week or two. However, in saying this we can’t be all things to all people so we’re not going to be able to do everything that people have asked for – and in some instances we disagree with the feedback.
On another note there has been some concern expressed in the community about ‘tag spamming’. Tag spamming is where someone puts a tag on their work that doesn’t relate to their work – in the hope of getting more traffic. For example, someone might display an image of a ship but tag it ‘plane’ – the tag has no relevance to the subject. This becomes a particular problem when lots and lots of tags are added to a work. In order to combat this I’d like to ask that everyone makes an effort to keep the tags relevant to the work uploaded. Over the next next few weeks we’ll be implementing some new features to try to automatically adjust our search algorithm to account for ‘tag spamming’ so it’s likely that if your tags don’t relate to the image then it will have a negative outcome in any searches on RedBubble.
And to finish with today it’s been interesting to see how much more activity is happening across the site in forums since last week (now that we’ve got the ability to watch a topic). I’ve been able to keep in touch with some brilliant topics – including my current favourite Images that make you go ‘wow’.
Ciao,
stevengeer
Fantastic work- I appreciate all you guys are doing!
Tama Blough
Awesome – as I work more with the new page, I like it better and better, and fixing the returning to where you were really makes it. Thanks!!!
Joanne Bradley
Glad for the improvements to the activity feed! The checkmark is brilliant!

Seems fine to me. Thanks for the update.

Since you’re in the fixing up mode – do you want to change Checkout the new work to check out the new work….it’s been driving me nuts. Oh, that’s right – I’m already nuts…

right you are!

Great. I noticed the ticks immediately after RB came back from “hiatus”.

You guys are working SUPER HARD! Thanks lots! And the issue of ‘tagging’ is something I’ve onl just become aware of too and it’s a big one – so great you’re looking into it! Thanks!

Overall I reckon the My Bubble is a great improvement from what it was, though it does feel unfinished/untidy.
With this version, I feel I am missing out on stuff. I’m not sure whether it’s actually being displayed in my feeds or not – but the net feeling for me is that I’m not seeing everything like I used to.
Being able to have that quick route to the groups I moderate is a great addition though.
ericseyes
So far so good, my only complaint is I would rather see the comments and replies to individual works all by themselves like before and not mixed in with group news; keep that in another section please. I enjoy just seeing all the comments and replies to my work and my comments on other’s works, that’s what I focus on most.
Stephen Haning
Thank you for all the hard work. Much improvement has been made.
Teresa Zieba
That’s awesome. I especially like the fact you’re trying to solve the “tag spamming”. I didn’t realize how bad it is until a couple of weeks ago when I tried to find a name for a flower (foxglove). I searched for flower and bells and got lots of polar bears in red hats all from the same person. Also group moderation of my work was definitely needed. Thank you so much for making things work for us.
David Petranker
Fantastic Work Peter, thank you for listening to us punters, qucik question is there a way and speaking for myself and i know probably everyone else to have a button on what challenges we have entered i know sometimes i enter 10 challenges and by the time i have finished entering the challenges i have forgotten the first challenge I have entered, I am 35 so i know my memory is going but not that fast . Also is there a way to be able to have a look at groups and see what pictures we have entered into the groups , it is hard to know what images are entered into the groups and sometimes you just want to take out an image especially when you can only put 5 images in some of the groups.
Thanks again Peter

1) When you load multiple pages and click on a link then click back the new MyBubble will remember where you were (previously it would take you back to the top of the screen).
maybe I’m misunderstanding this feature but it doesn’t seem to work for me. when I hit the my bubble, I go back to the top of the page and not where I left it. Am I missing something? Everything else is working a beauty.
RedBubble replied
I’m referring to the back button on your browser … anytime you click on ‘mybubble’ it will reload a fresh page.
H M Bascom
For example, our current thinking is that there would be a little indicator beside “My Groups” to indicate that you have new new group news.
Make this feature as big, as bright, as flashy, as annoying and as impossible to ignore as you can. This way, you will be flooded with complaints from people that belong to 500 groups that hosts send so many group “notices” that their “my bubble” glows like a neon sign! Ha Ha Ha You know I’m teasing.
I think this is an excellent idea.
Angie McKenzie
i love the check marks and the group news also over in the forums!! also for remembering where i left off when i click and than use the back button!! all great time savers and much appreciated hard work!!! thanks very much!!! :)

Great work keep it up Maybe dob in a spammer if it doesn’t improve

I love everything you have done.. forums are something I now participate in and am aware of the topics much more.. fantastic work for sure.. big yay!
my biggest complaint though from the beginning , and to me very frustrating, is not being able to edit a photo from the public view, to enter into groups, etc..

It’s great to see that you are responding to people’s concerns. The ability to watch a topic is fabulous.
Is there any way to separate “comments on my work” from “replies to my comments” again as with the old feed filter?

Great work, thank you very much for changes, especially on MyBubble overview page. Then I agree with Isa Rodriguez about impossibility to go to edit a photo from the public view. Thank you again for made this site as beautiful as it is!

Thanks for this one:
4) We’ve reintroduced the feed ‘group moderation of my work’
LazerBears
The changes are really good and thanks for listening to the community and working with them, it’s a really good way to run a business!
The only other suggestion I would have would be a filter to filter on the mybubble feed to just view comments, favourites or sales of your work, just so if you’re quickly stopping by you can see if you’ve had any recent updates then click it off if you have more time to view everything else too.
Cheers!
RedBubble replied
I think you’ve got this now – click on the ‘filter activity feed’ link.

I made some update on my bio and stuff too. I am starting to update my works. I started to add the redbubble links to my other sites too.

3) We’ve updated the activity events on the MyBubble page so that after you’ve looked at an item the link becomes grey and there’s a little ‘tick’ beside the link (just to make it easier to keep track of what you’ve already seen).
This is a great feature.

I’m with Isa on the forum thing I never participated until the “New” Bubble and the watch a topic thingy so thanks for that one,
thank dear god for the group moderation thingy I was so lost without it
and again I’m with Isa, please can we have an “Edit” button on the public view

Great news Peter, I have no doubt you guys were overwhelmed with the reaction everyone had about the “new look”, it was a shock to us all to wake up to it.
Thanks for taking the time out to fix the gliches.
I personally LOVE the watch the topic forums thing, that totally rocks!
Truely appreciate you guys working to help us hosts run a effecient group. Thanks for everything you guys.
Now you have any idea of what the next powerball numbers might be? :D
Fern Design
Since you guys have come out with these new features.. I like it but for one thing.. You need something that grabs the person’s attention that the host sent out a group post or mail.. whatever it is called..
I am having problems with communicating with my groups because of this..
Thanks so much for your wonderful work

Now you have actually killed my use of RB
- I don’t know what you did – but I can not even go to the second page of “see more activities” all I get is the same page -the URL ends with # which takes me no-where- UAE has banned redbubble and I have to go around with an outside server which limits use of things such as Java – now all can see is the first page – and with groups now back on the first page all I can see is the last hour of activity -arrrrggggg – cant you offer and option for those of us with slow internet or living in places where they govt doesnt like what you do – I am very sad right now as I have really enjoyed the site – davegenevievem
much better, like the tick and group news thing, thanks!
Sam Fonte
hey thanx for all the hard work RB, i like the changes so far. it’s great not to have 200 group mails in my inbox now!
one feature i’d love to see: it would be amazing to be able to move (lock, stock and barrell) my photos out of my RB painting profile and shift them (including all the comments) over to my new RB photos profile.?
and it would be great if we were able to move pics around by just dragging within our main galleries… the options that are now avail.. move Up 1 or Down 1 or to the Top or to the Bottom… are a bit limiting and time consuming.
and i agree with others… it would be great to have a more efficient way of keeping track of which works i’ve entered into which challenges and which groups.
cheers and all the very best!

Noticed the little tick straight away and figured it out … too easy!
I am curious on the tagging side of things …
When i upload an image i tag it with yarra valley ranges ..this is the area i have taken the photo’s in as well as the area i the artist come from … is it considered spam ?
RedBubble replied
Nope … it’s pretty obvious when people use tag spamming.

Hi again – if you can’t make a option for those of us who cannot use the currnet option
- can you tell me how I can get to the second page of activities, or filter groups etc -just give me the url ie http://www.redbubble.com/mybubble??? I can type in the remaining part to navigate through the system- I realize there are probably very fewof us with this problem but please can you take a second and send me a bubble mail -thanks very much – daveRedBubble replied

Why am I receiving notice of work I may have missed when it is NOT from persons on my watchlist? I find this extremely intrusive and it also means it takes longer for the page to load. Do you ever consider that some people are still on dial-up??
Darren Stones
Howdy Peter. If I delete a Group News topic from a group forum, will it be removed from the Group News section on the My Bubble page?
RedBubble replied
I believe so.
reflexio
Good news on all counts, one way to combat tag spamming would be to limit the numberof tags, say to 5. This would also improve searching as the 5 tags are more likley to be specific to the work, rather than slightly esoteric.
E.g. If I take a landscape picture and it has clouds in it, but they are not the main feature, I can still tag the picture with cloud. But…. if I had to choose the five most compelling tags, cloud would probably miss out. In this way, when searching for tag with cloud, I would be more liley to get a desired outcome.
RedBubble replied
Yep – this is an option that we have been considering. However, even with 5 tags people can still enter the wrong tags.
Magee
LOVE that you deleted the words New Work preceeding the artist’s name and title. Bravo! Only a little thing, but it was totally not needed!!
Another suggestion, and I know you can go and click on the filter to isolate each notified action, but could not each action, (when several filters are checked on our My Bubble page), be listed in differing fonts, or perhaps even… comment replies in italics, new work in bold type, group challenge announcements in a different colour, challeng winners likewise etc? I still find with only 3 filters checked, it’s so incredibly difficult to see at a glance what the hell is going on. You honestly have to stop and painstakingly read each and every notice before you get it!, ‘cause they all look the same! The old format was so quick and easy to deal with.
We’ve also noticed, that the ability to add an xlarge view of our lead shot, and post it as a comment, and have it be seen by others as xlarge, has been messed with. Can you explain why that might be?
Keep up the good work guys!
Russell Greenwood
@crackedpot – As you’ll see from the new name we gave it to clarify things, the artwork on the bottom right is new work from people on your watchlist and work they have favourited. It’s the same images you could see on your activity feed if you have those feeds turned on.
Leanna Lomanski
Thank you thank you thank you for Number 1.
navybrat
looking gud!! thanks you!!!
Russell Greenwood
@Magee – We changed the images within comments a few weeks ago. Basically when people post xlarge images (or just any large images – crazy animated gif’s included) in their comments they break the layout of our site. So there is a max-width that image can go and then they will shrink down to fit in whatever context that are in, in the case of comments, that will be the width of the comments. This is essentially the best solution we have that doesn’t just remove all images from comments.
Peter Searle (...
I agree wholeheartedly with CLiPiCs as at present the four standard rejection criteria do not meet all circumstances, and we at Works on Paper are trying to take a more personal approach to our members, and as nobody likes being rejected we endeavour to write to members explaining why it has happened. At present it is necessary to go to the image, and from there to the profile, and then send a Bubble Mail. It would be much simpler if this could be done at moderation level and there was a box to type in, as with the current system it can add a couple of hours daily to moderation. Of course all this wouldn’t be necessary if members read the Group Rules or didn’t tick every box in their Groups every time time a submission is made, but that’s another story.
mrscarlotta
My main concern was the group news, but, I know you guys are doing your best, xxxxxxxxxxxxx

The four standard rejection notices for group hosts to utulise is a good option, however I’d like to have the option to send a brief personal rejection notice. In most cases, I’m not sending a rejection notice because I feel the four options don’t convey what I want to say.
Matt Simner
Ticks are good – nice and subtle but noticeable enough. Also like the standardisation of the links on the activity monitor (easier to scan up and down the list).
Incidentally – I often use my phone to browse MyBubble – ‘cos I can :) (using Opera Mini), and everything looks and works pretty good there too – all the client-side links behave well too – refreshing the page expanded etc, as Javascript’s sortof limited.
Just thought you might like to know the sites pretty accessible to mobile browsers.

I haven’t passed judgment on the new my bubble yet – I thought I would give it a run before saying anything. My initial reaction last week was – No, I don’t like it, but after getting used to it a bit, I now really like most of it. The only bit that I am still not all that fussed on, is havng to break into my feeds – to check on a specific activity. It’s not the end of the world though, and I am sure I will get used to that too.

I like the tick marks on stuff we’ve already looked at and the group news now being posted in the group forum. Glad the “group moderation of my work” is back.
thanks!

For example, our current thinking is that there would be a little indicator beside “My Groups” to indicate that you have new new group news.
Congrats on fixing this.
I also like the idea of an indicator regarding group news.
Just need to remove, or have the option to remove, the ‘Work you may have Missed’ feed.
Richard Veal
Another thing I would like to see is the ability for RB to automatically remove a notification in the activity monitor, if the author/publisher deletes the work they have just uploaded.
IE. I have just clicked into 3 works that had already been deleted.
Thank you.

Kudos to everyone at Red Bubble! You are working so hard to keep all us artists happy! What a challenge, but your are handling it beautifully. Thanks for all your help today on getting my Bubble Page back on track, I was lost!
Neil Boucher
Very happy that you have been listening Peter! Still feel that group bmails should be treated similar to normal bmails though. I don’t normally go and look at “my groups” but if there was a flag indicating new group bmails I would go check it out. It’s all about not having to go search.
Cheers,
Neil
Dawnsky2
I think the changes are great,,and appreciate all your hard work,,but,, i dont think i or many others will have time to go into all the groups that we belong to and check the news, i know this stops the ‘far too many and sometimes unnecassary’ group bm’s we get coming through to the mails but i wonder could there be a seperate bm section in the Bubblemails, just for groups?, dont get me wrong i think you are doing a great job, just a little thought though,,
Lenka
In my opinion, that is not enough. I know I have tens of new group news every day, but I am not going to check them by three in one small portion of the overview window, without the possibility to open the whole list in a new window/tab, and with no date given to see quickly where have I ended two days ago… This way, it most probably wan’t get the attention it had before (as group bmails), except of from people that are members in just a pair of groups. I’d be much happier to have them as separate part under my bmail, or on a separate page to have a bit of overview.
>1) When you load multiple pages and click on a link then click back the new MyBubble will remember where you were (previously it would take you back to the top of the screen).
Again, as many people said already last week, it would be much more practical to have (separate!) pages. What if my list is too long (some days, it used to be up to 8 pages or even more) and I don’t have time to check it all in my free half-an-hour? Next day, the page is reloaded and I’m lost again, having to check what I’ve checked yesterday and is there something below I still haven’t seen? I can’t tell… I’ve noticed that there is ’#6’ or something like that added above, but it only loads much much much longer site (terrible to find my way in!), doesn’t really help. (well it does when coming back immediately after clicking something, but not when I have to shut down the computer and come back several hours later.)
>3) We’ve updated the activity events on the MyBubble page so that after you’ve looked at an item the link becomes grey and there’s a little ‘tick’ beside the link (just to make it easier to keep track of what you’ve already seen).
This is a good idea, but if I’m going to quickly check and skip those with the tick, I’m going to miss many challenge items. Once I’ve checked about the challenge (e.g. when it was launched), it gets a tick, and then it shows up marked when it opens, when the voting begins, when it closes… Some more tweaking on this feature is desirable.
>_ We’ve reintroduced the feed ‘group moderation of my work’_
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
>interesting to see how much more activity is happening across the site in forums since last week (now that we’ve got the ability to watch a topic)
Yes, this was the best change of the last week for me, well done!
>Russ just built an ‘edit button’ on the public view of a work.
Great :) ... but... where precisely is the ‘edit button’, I can’t find it?!?
And once more: could you please make it possible to open the ‘My Groups’ in a new window/tab as a complete list (to get more overview, and to make it searchable above all)? If you want for example to check briefly the current rules, it is very difficult to find the right group in the list (e.g., yesterday I wanted to check on Photographer’s Craft but couldn’t find it; after reading the list very carefully, I have found its whole name is ‘A Photographer’s Craft’; but who remembers that all, and specially when the names are changing now and then?)
@ Russell Greenwood:
>@crackedpot – As you’ll see from the new name we gave it to clarify things, the artwork on the bottom right is new work from people on your watchlist and work they have favourited. It’s the same images you could see on your activity feed if you have those feeds turned on.
No, sorry, it is not. Out of the six I can see there now, only two are from people on my watchlist. The other four are from people I’ve never heard about before. If these are works that somebody on my watchlist has favorited… in fact, I’m not that much interested in that, I’m choosing my favorites myself!
Thanks, and have a good light :)
Lenka
P.S. @ reflexio:
>one way to combat tag spamming would be to limit the numberof tags, say to 5.
It doesn’t prevent from entering spam tags (only limits their number), but it does prevent from entering enough relevant tags (e.g., main color, subject, photographer’s name, location, genre etc).
>E.g. If I take a landscape picture and it has clouds in it, but they are not the main feature, I can still tag the picture with cloud. But…. if I had to choose the five most compelling tags, cloud would probably miss out. In this way, when searching for tag with cloud, I would be more liley to get a desired outcome.
And if somebody wants to find a picture of a lake with clouds over it?
Dawnsky2

But I do feel the bm’s would be better:)
thanks for everything you do on the Bubble.

Thanks so much for all your hard work and being so kind as to letting us know what changes you have made and are thinking of making. I am not really happy about the Group News Forum though. I know a lot of members, myself included, don’t go to each of our groups (especially when you belong to a 100 groups.lol) and reading the group news. But you said that you were going to have a flagging indicator, I am hoping this works. I do not want to lose contact with my members. As you said, it is very important for us host(s) & hostesses keep contact with the members.
I appreciate all your hard work and attention to some of the problems people are complaining, suggesting, concerned about. I can’t imagine trying to keep everybody happy, it just will never happen. :) I wish you luck!
Thanks again!

Excellent work you did!!! Agree with Isa Rodriguez and it’s great you added the button yet :O)) Thank you for making RB a better place for us all! I’m sure you’ll complete everything in fully satisfaction for us…Greetings from Switzerland

All good fixes! Thanks guys

(sorry… pressed the button too quickly) I also meant to say that timewise, knowing what’s involved, this is a very impressive turnaround on the feedback. Well done to the development team! :-)

in general I don’t like the changes, but realise it won’t be changing back to the old version – but can we PLEASE separete the “Comments” on my work from the “Replies” to comments I’ve made on works by others – this combined useage is really annoying to me, I’m missing comments on my work (I like to do the courtesy of answering all comments where I can) & it is often pages long after just a day away from the RB site when all lumped together like a dog’s dinner – there, I’ve said it!
Rosy Kueng
Oh..forgot to mention that it would be very useful to be able to see wich work I have in each group…otherwise I have to check out all my work to find it out.
Is there a way to make it possible? I don’t know if I’m the only one having this request…you may consider this. Thank you
Dawn OConnor
can I ask why RB doesnt use times and dates on anything? Why is it ie 17 minutes or 3 days ago instead of the date time.
Luann Ryan
OMG, I have been waiting for item 3 since day one
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
REDBUBBLE ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loving the changes! Keep up the good work guys.
Especially love the group news and ticks for things I’ve already seen!!
Gold stars to redbubbles!
Vanessa Anderberg
The grey tick helps a great deal….and the page back feature actually works. Good to see this…Appreciated. It is hard enough to keep up with the work. Now at least we can find it once again. Thanks for that.
DragonFlyer
Now suddenly I hit ‘see more activity’ and I get a fraction of a second’s flash of something there and it disappears!!! Just started happening NOW – 9.40pm thurs night here in Fairfield, Melbourne. Just a few kms from where all you guys are! What’s going on? it was hard enough to navigate through what I was and what I wasn’t interested in all the long list before, but now I can’t even get at the list! Has something gone wrong or am I being ‘blocked’ or something?
Apologies if I sound rude – I really don’t mean to – but this suddenly shocked and frustrated me so much – right when I am trying to catch up on what’s been happening:(
solareclips~Ju...
I think what you all are doing is great, and I am very happy to know that you are working so hard for us!
My biggest concern is still from a host point of view…. I know you know the drill so I won’t be repetative…
Also, the forums are acting VERY funny. Whenever I edit a topic and try to move the position…. nada, or it might move the topic to some random spot, but no where near where I wanted it..
Keep up the amazing work that you all do, and remember to let all the bad negative stuff roll off like water from a duck! It can be hard when you have such large shoes to fill. I for one am happy and proud to be a member of this great community! :)
Heavenandus777
WOW What You Guys do to make us all happy, is Amazing, That is why I Love this Place so Much…....Great work Guys

Many thanks – glad you guys are listening and fixing the minor niggles.

I agree with sharon The You may have missed work Needs to be Changed it to is driving me Nuts, When you Comment on the 6th one and go to the 7th It takes you right back to the First Page, I can comment all day But Not Like this
DragonFlyer
Hello – please ignore my post 4 up from here from 20 mins ago – it’s now working again. Or – maybe the fact that it did not work is an issue? if you guys have any more space at all in your minds or offices for any more issues…
You are BRILLIANT the way you provide for us all to participate in what is happening – and though of course you cannot be all things to all people – but you DO RESPOND!!!
Thank you so much for that and I am very happy to be a part of this community :)))
Russell Greenwood
@Peter – You might not have tested it in Opera, but some of us did ;) And in fact it works really nice on the iPhone.
@Lenka – The edit button’s not on the live site yet, coming soon…
RedBubble replied
Did you really?
Neil Boucher
Well it’s better, BUT When you have gone through a couple of “see more activity” you still have to scroll down to find where you were up to. Still very frustrating.
RedBubble replied
What browser are you using Neil – this isn’t happening on Safari (at the moment).
DragonFlyer
I’ve had to come back to tell you to ignore my last post saying to ignore the one before – my ‘See More Activity’ feed is not working again… 10.20pm Thurs night.
So – somewhere there is a ‘glitch’... still…
Though this time I am tired and I give up on trying to catch up for tonight…
Overall it is still much more frustrating to keep track than it used to be – as even though (when my activity feed is actually working in the first place) it no longer takes us back to the absolute top of the page, it still goes back to the ‘top’ of the non-existent page we were on – not the actual place on the ‘page’ we were on. So that still leaves masses of scrolling backwards and forwards to try to make sure that I really have caught up with all that is there…
And – I don’t know if this is so for others – but for me all this week the overview page has seemed extremely slow to catch up on what I’m actually doing. I can click away, navigate through several groups and works, comment on them, come back to ‘My ‘bubble’ and it still for some time does not even know that I have ‘been and commented’ – or there have been times I have ‘found’ comments on my work and replied before the initial comment has even shown up on my overview page….
Anyway – thank you again for providing us the opportunity to comment on what is happening – and especially as I have noticed you actually RESPOND to the comments you get!
You guys do a great job. Thanks! I’m sure these ‘glitches’ will be overcome.

What browser are you using?

Awesome, definitely good changes, i really missed the group moderation of your work tag. Also, what happened to work removed from a challenge? THat’s probably the only thing wrong with the new overview, i definitely prefer it now.

@Peter – Heh, yeah, sure did :) Unfortunately Opera doesn’t like rounded corners yet either… but it’s blazing fast. Xavier tends to notice when things aren’t working in Opera… perhaps he like the Opera too?

>The edit button’s not on the live site yet, coming soon…
Thanks, that’s good news, looking forward to it :)

Looks good, but now it takes a lot more clicking to sort through the news I want to read. So I quit a bunch of groups. New bubble mail should be at the top of the page, not the bottom, that would save clicking (don’t need to read the old stuff first). I wish I could turn off the ‘things you might have missed’ feature. I don’t like being force fed.
Memaa
I am having problems with the new format when it comes to looking at new work and responding to comments on my art. I constently have to click for more work at the bottom of the page and when I am done commenting it takes me back to the beginning and I must start over again to click for more work. It is very cumbersome. Am I doing something wrong? I appreciate your work on the new update and all the other things you do to make this site possible. We all love Redbubble! Sue
Sazzart
Overall, I like the new format; but disappointed that the “My Work Featured In A Group” feed was deleted?!!?
jo beerens
@Sazzart: “My Work Featured In A Group” is still there. Click on Filter activity feed and check the last item in My Stuff.
Scott Bricker
my concern is STILL the list of new works, comments, etc…when you go to a comment, etc, then back to the list, it doesnt close to the start as before…BUT, you still have to scroll all the way down to where you left off…why can’t it remember where you left off??? Bad job, no positive comment from me at all, in a real business, you would be fired…
Alice Oates
Also, yeah, want group bubblemails back as a host!!!!
Judylee
I think you are all doing a wonderful job and I understand full well how much work goes in to running a site like this and keeping the population happy!
Keep up the GREAT work!!!
Laurie Search
It’s sooo much better now that you don’t lose your place when you’re going through the activity feed, click on a picture, and come back to the activity feed….BUT…my activity feed seems to be stopping at a certain point….right now it’s only letting me go back 10 hours…so if someone left me a comment 11 or more hours ago, I can’t see it here…Frustrating!!! I think everything was great before any of these changes started; wish you didn’t change it at all!
MichelleR
I love what you are doing. Keep up the great work. And, as far as the tags…I always put where the shot was taken (ie: Florida, Orlando, park etc.) even if it’s just a shot of flowers, cat etc… is that considered Tag spamming? Just because someone who is viewing the work doesn’t think a certain word is relevant, doesn’t mean the photographer/artist doesn’t think it’s relevant, either. After all, the artist knows what it took to get the shot and knows what words are relevant to each individual image. After all, isn’t that the great thing about art….everyone has their own opinion and idea of what it is… Seems to be there are more important things for the Redbubble staff to focus on.
Once again, I must say I LOVE the new changes! Keep up the great work.
Ginny York
I do still think it would be helpful to have the pages numbered where the comments and replies go. For some people who get busy and miss a few days on here it would be easy to just get on a numbered page to catch up with what was missed.
Rebekah McLeod
could you do something about the huge text on the “my Art” page. could you bump it down to line up with the thumbnails or bump up the thumbnails to line up with the text.
Scott Englund
It is coming along nicely… I have two sayings in life, and I think both are prevelent.
1. its about progress and not prefection.
the red bubble designers are doing just that.
2. Always remember the price of admission: are you getting what you paid for?
Again for my monthly payment of $0 US dollars, this is a great service and fourum, and I think I get more than enough tools for the price I pay.
TREVOR IRWIN
ROCK ON REDBUBBLE!.
This is a great change and it shows that you do listen to us RB devotees. Thanks for a great service.

Your constant efforts are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the updates, on IE you still need to page down to where you were but at least all 4 pages shows up.
I’ve noticed since this cutover that when I comment on peoples work a duplicate record is being posted in the reply area. Also it appears I have to double click to get things to work? Don’t know why..
RiSH :
I welcome all the changes … they were small but very necessary … No. 3 was the best … I had it in mind for months.
I ask for one little more on group news … can you show slideshow of group news on mybubble page ? Like news ticker on websites … may be scrolling up one or fading one … then it will bring more attention to the users.

You all do a fantastic job…the new changes are great…*-)

what happened to the ‘groups’ tab under ‘my groups’? i liked being able to see who added a new piece of art to my groups.
mooner1
Can’t leave well enough alone! “Wait for it” under more activity…. you really MEAN that don’t ya…. I’ve been waiting for 2 hours now…. before I could at least open the next page in a new tab! As for the rest on the right hand side I’m still waiting for that to load… that’s been 2 days ago! I know it’s about change and the price is right but if ya can’t use it…???

All these changes are exciting. Will the voting setup change sometime soon? I have not voted in various challenges because it would take too long to browse through all the pictures one at a time…. Any hopes?

Thanks for ALL YOUR HARD WORK first. Things are always getting better. Love the tags. Would be nice if you had a tag on WORK FAVORED Some just FAVOR and you don`t have a link. I am having trouble having so many pages to catch up with reloading each page to get to the last one. I finaly just do one page and quit for the day. Just to time consuming for me and every one. PLEASE HELP US Thanks very much TOM BAUMKER

Thanks for all again. You did a great job – it’s very improved.

at first I was a little bummed by the changes as they took some getting used to. Soon I got used to them and, although I’m still more fond of the way it was way back in… mid march, I do like some of the new features. The check mark is nice.
My only worry is if you guys do the whole facebook thing and change the format every other week. that gets a little irritating. change is good, yes, if it’s necessary but that whole ‘keeping up with the eJoneses’ shows a lack of faith in one’s product. You got an awesome thing, trust it.
RedBubble replied
The most important thing with change is there has to be a reason for the change. And I’m of the view that there was very important reasons for this change – watching forum threads, a new place for group news, and improving the visual presentation of the page.
Geoff Coleman...
A suggestion which applies both to My Bubble and individual images pages. Would it be possible to have the back arrow return you to place on the previous page where you last clicked rather than to the top of the page. I’m still getting RSI from having to scroll all the way down the page to where I was when I clicked to make a comment, etc. Plus you have to remember exactly where you were on the page when you made the click. The same annoying thing happens when you are replying to comments on one of your pics. Every time you hit the back arrow after replying to a comment it returns you to the top of the page for your image when it would be so much easier if it returned you to the place where you clicked to make the reply. That way you can just pick straight up from where you left off. Thanks for fixing the really annoying problem of being returned to the first page on My Bubble when you hit the back arrow.
RedBubble replied
That’s the way it’s meant to work. What browser are you using? It’s working okay for me on Firefox.
Geoff Coleman...
Thanks for getting back so quickly – I use Firefox at home on my Mac and IE 6 at work on a PC (hate IE 6 but am stuck with it as it’s the workplace). However I have the same problem with both browsers – defaulting to the top of the page and not the last click. Any thoughts?
Rachel Stickney
Things are looking better – thanks for listening to our feedback and trying to improve on the new setup.
I’m having the same problem as Geoff, but I use IE 7.
Group News is better now with a permanent post in the group forums, but still needs better visibility and an easier way to view it, with less chance of missing stuff if you are away from RB for a day or more (without having to randomly visit every group you’re in just to see if you missed anything).
MarianaEwa
I have Firefox 2.0.0.20 and it works really good. It remember where I was before and something that I saw today was that when I have comment or replay on a comments, it goes right down so that I could look if the comments or replay was right. That is new to me. Before it goes back to the top of the pictures side and I had to scoll down to see if it was right.
My english is not so good and I will check so that I have spelled it right :))
I must say that I was not comfy with this change before but now I really like it :D

Many thanks for listening to our feedback, I know that it’s hard, since so many opinions are expressed. I love that you brought back the “memory” of where we were previously in our activity monitor, makes everything smooth as before. :)
lollipoppins
Redbubble you are awesome. I love the new lay outs.
I still have a couple of things that are niggling me…
1. In groups, it would be amazingly useful to see a bit of the description when you hover the mouse over the image, like on the featured images…
2. Can we have something other than the dog-people when RedBubble goes on hiatus? I’ve seen them aallll!!
Hugh Waller
Looks good BUT on Mac it seems that the only browser it works on is Opera ? !!!!
Rachel Stickney
I’m still having this problem with IE 7 -
Good – After clicking on items in the feed and then hitting the back button, page goes back to where I was on the original feed. Also good – when I go back, the extended activity (see more activity) is also there, but…
Bad – ... instead of taking me back to where I was on the feeds, it takes me back to the bottom of the original page before I clicked “see more activity” and not to where I was at on the page. So I have to repeatedly scroll back down to the last item I looked at/clicked on.
Can this be fixed please?
fendy
awsome..thanks for the update.

great news! I love the new style…well done but I can not look at the groups if I am on my phone anymore they will not load but I can live with that

Hello, first I’d like tahnk you for your so hard work to improving this great site!
Anyway, as many other users, I’m having problems with “My activity overview”. Still yesterday I was been able to see only 10 pages, then no other. But today I can ONLY see the first page. Impossible make work “More activity” button, it turns but nothing happens. I’ve try to add #2, 3…. but nothing happens. I’m missing a lot of messages and it is frustrating.
Second one : ””Russ just built an ‘edit button’ on the public view of a work.”” It doesn’t appear on the public view page… maybe is coming?
My browser is Explorer 7 and I have Java enabled.
Hope you’ll be able to correct the “My activity overview” page. This is the most important tool o know about our work….
Thanks again.

Great work folks!
What I would like to see is a search window at my ART page (like you’ve done it for challenges) so I wouldn’t going thru 18 pages of my photos trying to find and edit an old picture. Also it would be great to be able to find which of my photos belong to any particular group (if I’d like to renew something in the group with limited number of works)
Cheers, A

first of all i love redbubble. you guys are the best. and the quality of the prints are so amazing. i so wish you guys would have individual prints like wallets, 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, ext. i would love to run my photography directly threw you guys in that way. think about it.. it would be a good idea. my favorite pro print shop closed down and i have no place that comes close except you guys but you don’t do individual prints. why is that any way?

I tried to unsubscribe and it didn’t work. Now just labeled the support@redbubble address as spam. This will be most effective on google mail and I will not be so frustrated and complain.

Please bring back: Remove from Favorites link/option. So we can see what we actually favorited and not what Red Bubble places there.

Since I cannot send a “bubblemail” to you, I thought this might be the best place to ask this question. In trying to promote my Redbubble site on MySpace, I’ve tried copying and pasting the widget for the slide show. The problem is that instead of showing my work , the widget shows the work of what I’m assuming is all the artists on Redbubble. Any solutions?
Thanks, Tim
