i Love the new reply to comment look, it doesnt clutter up what other commentors have said..that Rocks!! I also like how the reply goes under the commentor’s comment, instead of at the end of the comments.
sigh..wish i could get the Tshirt thing down, Id love to make some, but it just doesnt work for me, isnt there an easier way to get that accomplished? maybe have some template set up within the site, so all we had to do was add our text and photos? As much as i hate to compare Rb with other sites, Zazzle does have a good set up to create the T within the site, instead of trying to create, save to computer, and then add to site? I have attempted a few times with the template you guys offer, I ended up with frustration instead of a t-shirt design

I like the new highlighting of the responses in comments, but when it’s my own and I have the “reply | report | delete” links showing, the “delete” falls outside the highlighted area. Just looks a bit messy, that’s all.

To be Dutch, honest and Blunt.. I don’t dig it when you have major problems in your notification procedures, what frustrates the hell out out many of your users, you start spending time on cosmetic changes…

Previously when you clicked on a comment it took you there now it goes to the head of the page and it takes a lot of searching until you find it

You took something that wasn`t broke and fixed it. You should never do that.

People are replying to my comments and they`re not showing up on my activity monitor.
Others may not care but that pisses me off.

I don`t care that posts are coming in twice… at least I see them…
But please don`t fuck withg the notification thing. I hate when things are missed. They could be important.

Probably look a lot nicer when the comments can be kept tucked away in drop down menu Peter. Two tabs side by side ‘Add Comment’ – ‘View Comments’ Can you ask Russ if that is possible please ?

I’m sorry, but to honest, telling us that what you’ve decided to change “looks better” than before is like telling us someone’s artwork looks better than someone else’s – both are value judgments. One is even presumptuous. It’s a personal thing, and personally it now looks odd, but, like Microsoft’s changes, I guess we have to grin and bear it.

But I echo other’s and ask that the dates be returned. They were a very useful thing to have, especially when replying to comments.

the avatars next to each reply could get a little much, but I liked the way that, along with the indent, I could tell at a glance who I had replied to and who I needed to reply to.
Now, with no avatar, no link highlight and no other means of emphasising the reply, it has become difficult to see as it blends in to the original comment.
It does look much neater, but I would like some way of quickly identifying the replies.

Having read other comments, I noticed mention of the grey box! I can hardly see it. I have looked in both IE and OPERA. Maybe it’s my old eyes, but there doesn’t appear to be much of a colour change there. Looks like #EEEEEE where #CCCCCC would work a lot better for me.

Have to vote YES and the Comment/reply change, perhaps the “grey” background could be a shade darker (?) for the visually challenged to make clearer distinction … a part from that, its much cleaner and neater overall, and easier to read in the main … Now if you folks could get “bulk deletion” sorted-out for Gallery maintenance, and ‘spring-cleaning” efficiency … that would be really nice …

I liked the earlier one where the comments replied used to get indented automatically.
Also a avatar or picture used to give me the sense who replied … instead of reading.
But the new system is ok … I am not loving it as much I did the earlier one.
I would like to see reply to ’ reply’ option. In that case one can reply to a reply evenif she or he didnt start the comment.
If reply to reply is not justified, I think a “quote” system will be better where we can quote a person and reply.
So I think we will need some more buttons in the comment area, like bold, italic, underline, quote, link, image etc. ... its easy for people.

I think that should be considered. The main comment should be more highlighted/emphasized … may be larger font… and the reply to the comments should be more readable.

the avatart next to it made it easier to spot the artists’s comments

Comment replies look great. When I first saw them I thought there was another special code to add a highlight that only a few knew how to do, LOL. I finally figured out (in blonde time) that everyone had the same feature. Thanks, it does look nice.

The addition of grey for the replies really helped, and the smaller font for the time also (I miss the avatar though), but gee, it has to work otherwise you’ve introduced another glitch. On reflection I can see the indent works without the avatar, but it’s looking busy. But now its stopped working, ie the grey is gone and the smaller font has blown back to large, so the absent avatar now looks decidedly odd. So, until that is fixed, have we gone backwards? Chopping off the time (at what point in time does this happen?) is still a major minus for me.

I think the continue browsing button on the check out should send you back to the bubble site if you’ve been looking at a bubble site. If that makes sense? Or if you’ve been looking at say peter hills prints that it takes you back to his page etc

Interesting from the comments here how many IE users have cached styles – people see all kinds of wierd crap! (odd fonts, indents, pink rabbits…)

the avatar is part of our online identity and it needs to be up there with our name.

avatars also encourage flow within the site. someone who reads a comment is likely to think, “oh, i like the look of that picture. let’s see what else this artist has done”. having a name by itself won’t achieve this.

redbubble is a) an arts-based site (so why remove pictures of peoples’ art?) and b) a community (so why remove anything that encourage exploration and interaction?)

ok, sorry, i’ve just realised that someone would already have seen my work as i would be replying to a comment that they had made on it (or replying to a reply to comment that i had made on their work).

i still think that the avatar is part of our public face / branding and should always accompany our name.

The concept is great and once you work out all the kinks it will be totally wonderful. Keep up the good work

The comments are much improved indeed. I would, however, like to agree with Yool’s comment on the deletion of comments that we make mistakes on, but other than that, I don’t mind. (Be tactful and think before commenting, or just add another comment fixing mistake). : )
