Greetings! Is it Thursday already?

We’ve just pushed out this morning’s release, which includes heaps of updates to the BubbleSites:

The first steps towards “themes” — you can choose between black, white and beige backgrounds, with everything else on the screen adjusted to suit. Yes, of course there’s more to come, but we’re happy to say that the foundations are in place, so you can start making the site “yours”.
More navigation has been added too, making it easier for people to move around.
And some other refinements which you’ll probably figure out for yourselves, like some tweaks to the product config menu.

We’ve also been investing quite heavily in search engine advertising campaigns and landing pages, the obvious aim being to boost sales and drive more traffic to the site. It’s early days, but we’re seeing some great results and we think this is going to make a huge difference long term.

Outside the bubble, 45 bubblers are currently exhibiting their work to over 5000 people a day at one of Melbourne’s biggest landmarks, the Rialto Towers. Paul Villani was the brains behind this fantastic idea which has given the artworks of many Melbourne and interstate artists exposure like never before.

The exhibition is housed in the lush foyer of this 55 story business and tourist centre and is open until August 15th. This mammoth project was accomplished by a small team of 3 friends over a handful of coffees. If you’re interested in doing something similar in your city and don’t know where to start, feel free to drop one of the organizers a line.

What else? Oh yeah, it’s been an interesting time in the land of T-Shirts. The so-called “Great Tee Disaster” printing delays have kept people like Ed awake for an unhealthy number of hours, but we’ve been in contact with the buyers that have been affected and we believe everything will be under control very soon.

Thank you for the changes….......and the much awaited Black background – BUT – do we have to have (both on the black and the grey/taupe) an WHITE border around the shot????? somewhat tacky and it made me finally go back to the all white – basic white but more elegant without obvious insert type borders to distract from the elegance of the presented shot. At least make the white border very, very thin….

Just something to think about – I am overall very glad to see improvements to the whole package – so THANKS are definitely in order.

sorry, dont like it at all. if you use black or the insipid one, you get ugly white patches around the photos, ugh! the captions are still grey with white letters, hard to see!it was better when you were just beginning with black gallery captions with white lettering.
back to the drawing board please and i will leave mine white, until you get it together.
big problem is, every time you go to do anything all the pictures disappear and reload all the time. very frustrating.

you really are doing a superb job! As far as the bubblesites, I feel there needs to be more options for the home page setup. It seems daunting to figure out what to put there. framed pictures… or text…. hmmm. Thank you for the work already put forth. The best site out there by far. I chose Red Bubble over all! :)

Here’s my question: I’ve got information (like links to categories of my other images on red bubble) and frame print (or card) samples on my red bubble image pages, that are out of place on my bubblesite image pages. Do I need to remove them from my red bubble site pages, which would seem a shame to do and also be very tedius, or can that be a choice to not show on the bubblesite? Also, the title of the image shows up twice, which just seems sort of odd. I like it at the top. And one other suggestion: the “next picture” arrow is almost too small to notice.

My bubblesite does look MUCH better in black.

A lot of peoplr dont get that to see the prices and all you need to click on the fotos because no where does it tell a buyer that the prices are there to be seen if you click!
So think the preview is it and have no clue to click the foto.
So maybe you add a place for a sign to say click for prices.
I added mine at the end of my intro but you never know if they even read that intro so may be think about it!
And also the photos come up with a border but its hard to tel if its a changeable so mayba on the tab put black or white border so they know whats possible.
And thats it really very nice addition to RB the sights love mine!And my friends love it too.
Oh and maybe a grey would be nice as a theme too! Thanks Rb for this private site.
