The ability to feature work in the groups is genius! It could also be a nice touch if the featured people got notification in their activity monitor. Congrats also to the people with red dots! Well deserved ;)

webgrrl – you can feature as many people and works as you want, but we’ll only display 18 works on the group homepage, and I think 8 people.

Thank you guys for the great job that you do, always appreciated. Would just like to say that the removal of the ‘sold work – bought work’ from member’s pages in my opinion was a significant part of RB, surely that’s what RB is about too? Would like to suggest rather than this decision you’ve taken, why not appeal to members to delete their read bubble mails, or autodelete once read, surely this would alleviate the pressure on your servers? Just a thought!!

1/ Congrats of your KILLER WEBSITE it is so good!
2/ As a newbie to RedBubble, how do I find out how other people are selling, and how the selling is going overall? Market Research without data is well nigh impossible, but maybe you have something on the site that I have not yet found. I am not just talking about my own sales (wish!) but overall.

Hi, It seems once a host features images etc, the only way to un feature them is to go and find them again in the group, or am I missing something? It would be much less work if we could un feature them on the overview page

@LarryVarley, click on the “Featured work” link above the featured images. You can un-feature on that page.

Personally I don’t like that the Recent Work goes away when I feature something. Whoo, now I have just one image on my group front page! Can we have Featured Works above, and then the recent work? And perhaps two rows of recent, not just 6 images. My group is fairly busy, 6 images goes off the front page like a rollercoaster :)

i think the sold stuff should be either an option to be shown for those that need to show off. or under your own private status. i always thought it was unprofessional to have it. its like going to a store and it says on the door – sold stuff.

Yesterday I was on someone’s page and noticed the little red bubble by her name. I clicked off the page, and when I clicked back it was gone! I did wonder what was going on.

The bought and sold thing was nice… Showed the people who were contributing by buying or were good enough to have sold. If that makes sense.

Suggestion… Limit the stuff shown on the normal profile pages (the current ones) and make a detailed page that has the extra stuff.

Firstly, well done RedBubble on your continued efforts to improve the site and functionality. Your hard work is very appreciated!

I would like to weigh in on the new look and features of the Group pages. Overall I think the look is great. I particularly like seeing the art in a more prominent position at the top of the page.

I am happy we now have the ability to feature works in a designated space, however, I am in agreement with those who have already said, I do not like the fact that featuring art removes the “Recent Works” section. For this reason, I will not be using the new Feature option and will continue to feature works in the “About This Group” section. It would be wonderful if we could have a space for both recent and featured works.

Another minor feature that has been brought up is the appearance of the links that lead to the other sections of the group. It would be great to see them a bit more prominent in appearance. But I would never mention that again if we could have my first point implemented! :)

There was a mention in a previous post regarding the absence of the group rules and guidelines from the main page. I, too, would like to see this return but this is a minor point for me as the rules and guidelines could be posted in the group forum for current members who need a reminder. Yes, it would be a bit more clicking to get to them and a bit more work for the Host, but if I had a choice between changes I would again refer to my first point. The presence of new AND featured works is much more vital to me than the other possible changes.

So, there is my feedback :) I really appreciate you all taking the time to consider and implement changes suggested by the RB members and for being willing to revisit new implementations for further improvements. Keep up the great work, RB staff!

I got a bit of a kick out of getting my first ‘sold’ tick but I think it is a good idea to drop them. The quality of work is neither enhanced or diminished by the presence or absence of a ‘sold’ tick and I am sure that computing power would be better used on search and sell facilities or whatever your techies decide is best. Always a pleasure to read what you folks are up to. All the best.

Redbubble is a fantastic place to sell and buy art…it’s great that you keep changing and improving the site, making it more user friendly for both artists and art collectors.

I agree that removing the bought and sold notices, is a good idea…..

In my long experience with art sales and shows, I have found that for the most part buyers need a lot of guidance when deciding to purchase art…

In Galleries for example, the dealer is there to help them decide, but nine time out of ten, the buyer just wants to know which artist is the big seller…that’s whose work they want to own.

When buying from a website, there is no one to guide you and the shear numbers can be overwhelming…...and although we’re not dealing with original art here, the prints are of high quality and images can in some cases, eventually become collectible.

For the buyer who is not sure what they want, or even what they really like, the words “sold art” can be like a beacon. This is great for that particular artist, but not so fair to the others, as the viewer has now used that word “sold” as a measuring stick and stops looking…..this is especially so when they’re buying for others as gifts.

Of course there are buyers who know exactly what they want and surf until they find it, but by and large most people are not sure…e.g. watch customers wander through a dept. store bewildered, until a sales clerk takes them in hand.

An answer to this dilemma which hopefully would ensure happiness on both sides of the question, would be to add sold art to your profile page….it’s there for viewers to see, but it does not have the slight taint of comparison with others that the “bought art” “sold art” notices [which were more in your face] had up till now.

Also Would it be possible to get a reply feature on the bubble mail? When people write me I want them to know I’m replying to that message.

Sold feauture i can live WITHOUT IT…..i have created my own way how to display sold work…by adding word “SOLD” into tags and creating URL to those that were sold…so i never used it anyway so good make a room for something else RB…

Phew, glad you put that ‘etc’ in, I was thinking it was Thursday again today!!
It’s great to see the hardworkers of our fabulous bubbleland get acknowledged and thanked (and with red dots too!!).

Is there a limit to how many images can be on the group overview? They look much cleaner and easier to read. Love that we can do ‘features’ of our own groups too.

I’d like to vote for Recent works staying when you add Featured to Groups – so far I’m not featuring because the recent disappears!!! I was already putting one featured on that page each week in the Description area as an encouragement to my Groups, and it seemed to be regarded as ‘special’ whereas a row of featured is a bit ‘ho hum’ ... ???

It will take users (and hosts!!) a while to get the hang of the new layout!!

Onward and upward – oh and by the way has anyone found a way to squeeze more than 24 hours into a RB day? I’m running out of time!!!!
