Oh The Temptation

What was originally a “squirrel proof ” bird feeder only worked for a short time as the temptation was just too much for this little fellow to resist. At first he was not able to climb the pole at all but he soon figured that out. Then he could not seem to be able to get onto the bird feeder, but after many tries he was able to get on top as you see here. Then he was finally able to get down onto the perch, but was thrown off every time because the perch is set to tip anything heavier than a few ounces off. But alas he has figured out a way to sit on the very end of the perch and happily munch away on the seeds that have been placed there for the birds. Photo taken May 11/2008 in my parents backyard. Needless to say my mother is not impressed. Her words were,and I quote,” Squirrel proof my _ _ _”!!
