You Can Lead A Horse To Water......
I came across these beautiful horses drinking from the pond just south of Vernon on Westside Road and I was struck by the size and the beautiful color of these animals. There were three of these horses there and all had the same color, markings and were about the same size. Photo taken April 28/2008.

a royal beauty but sadly, does not look to be being taken care of very well, that sway back and the long tail are some signs for neglect, albeit maybe only marginally

Yeah ? Do you want me?
To help you plough furrows in your land?
What cartload do you need hauled?
But I see no harness in your hand
My life seems empty now somehow
Beautiful free to be sure
But for all the happiness this freedom allows
I find I yearn for something more
I seem to stand and wait for something
Linked to the smell of man
Instincts urge me to walk by his side
And help him however I can
My ancestors were bred eons ago
with bones that were big and muscles strong
Broad of withers neck and back
And hefty feet to walk all the day long
Yet I stand alone in this wide open field
Companions are good but they still do not fill
This emptiness that envelops me
And makes my day so still
Do you need me?

I saw this gorgeous bloke and these words filled my head as if he were telling me what he was thinking
Thank you for bringing him to my eyes!
Your shot is gorgeous giving him the majesty that all horses deserve!
Chookas! ♥

Amazing words and so fitting for this capture! Thank you so much for adding this. These horses indeed do look older and I’m sure they are retired now and there were only the three of them there, so sadly I feel one of the team had passed on to greener pastures already.
