It seems so stupid now
but how can I talk to you?
Did you love me? I don’t know
It didn’t seem that way
You said you brought my kids up
What a stupid thing to say
You really hated my kids,
moaning all the time
You always played the martyr
when it came to me and mine
You always made a fuss,
unless someone could see
You never gave me any help
- it was MY children and ME!
we didn’t need you anyhow
but you always needed me
to sort your bloody problems out
where were the other three!!!
Don’t you remember that we fell out
until the day you died
What was that all about?
You obviously had lied
Was it because I needed help?
And as usual you denied
So we fell out for 13 years
but still you lied and lied
And now I have a chance,
to hear you talk to me
But I’ve just said all I needed to…
so I think we’ll leave it be!!

It appears that you too are in a phase in your life where you are reflecting on the relationships you have formed. Brilliant and powerful poem.
I recommend that you write your mother a letter that is honestly blunt… and then burn it.
Let go of the negativity. I am learning to do the same.

Such strong and angry words spoken the “pain of this hurt must be broken” – I agree with Jono and I see by the comments you have done so, So hopefully you can regain some of your pride back by doing this! Makes me feel proud of you and many others I suspect feel the same! – David :>))
