Model: Gabriel, 17
October 2010
Taken at Maxoperandi’s excellent studio in Rushden (thanks Ian!)
Canon 5D Mk II, 24-70mm
processed in Photoshop CS3 with Niksoftware plugins

Focal Length 52mm
Shutter Speed 1/125 secs
Aperture f/13
ISO 100

I’ve called this ‘Asymmetry’ because whenever I look at this I’m drawn to Gabriel’s thumbs in the middle of the picture. They remind me of something like an open latch, or a switch in the ‘off’ position – a broken circuit.

LOL! Until I read what you said about the piece I was searching for something on the body that wasn’t pretty damned near symmetric. The thumbs. Well, yeah but…really? OK, I guess the title does sorta force you deeper into the photograph and I’m rather embarrassed I’ve had this in the moderation files and never once saw his hands. LOLOL!

  • lol, well you can’t really tell from the thumbnail but yeah…once you notice the thumbs you can’t ignore them :)
