MidTown Bus

This is a view of Midtown Manhattan looking down 41st Street from Park Avenue. The little building off in the distance (at the end of the street beyond the bridge) is the infamous New York Public Library…the one with the fancy lions perched outside :) – I enhanced the photo in Photoshop.
If you would like to see another interpretation of this piece…please see the portfolio of the fantastic Samuel Durkin He has been working on a series of paintings on the topic of famous cities around the world and has asked to use a few of my NYC images as a starting point for some of his New York paintings. I must say that I was thrilled and honored to contribute. His work can be found here

I just walked down this block on Saturday. Why didn’t I capture this shot? Your Photoshop re-work and coloring are awesome. Great job!
Congratulations on having your work featured in Durkin’s portfolio. That’s quite an honor.
    See you Saturday,
    Doc

Ahhh…maybe because you are a smart man who does not stop in the middle of busy intersections with crazy cab drivers (and busses) speeding in every direction…just to snap a shot! ;) – Thanks for the compliment! – see you then!!

Thank you Aglaia for the wonderful comment! ;) – I’ve been enjoying the collaboration…It’s becoming an interesting experiment in interpretation I think. Sam has a way of making these images all his own. I always look forward to seeing them! :)
