Profile

I use a Pentax Ist*DS, a camera with a ridiculous name but wonderful otherwise.

Processing is minimal; cropping and tweaks to lighting and contrast are basically it, unless specifically noted.

What you see is what I and the camera agreed we had seen together.

Please feel free to browse and comment; I always appreciate feedback, including constructive criticism and questions.

I also have work available at

Zenfolio, at sungazer.zenfolio.com

ArtFire, at sungazer.artfire.com

Etsy, at sungazer.etsy.com

Sparrows Falling

The sparrows are falling and rising like leaves, whirling in the winds like we do in the currents of our lives…

Prayer Wheel

She returns to the front yard, passing by my window, and climbs a tree in the neighbor’s yard. She descends, and in her mouth is a pup….

Dust Devil

A whirlwind rose in my path, dusty red and towering like a demon of malign confusion. Flaxen tumbleweeds spiraled up into the light, and my thoughts followed….

Barn

Across the room I can hear the labored breathing of a sleeping sow. She is a vast expanse of flesh, pink and swollen below, ivory-colored bristles above….

Mole

A mole is three times the length of a cat’s paw. It lies limp and heavy beneath the picnic table, its pelt gritty from being rolled back and forth in the wet sand….
